-- Do you really think the Conservatives are going to fall for the token conservative on the ticket trick again? --

Quite a few will. I won't. The only position on the ticket that matters is the top, in my book. I went against my conscience when I voted for McCain (based on my favorable opinion of Palin), and in hindsight, that was a gross error on my part.

I can see where Romney wins, I just don’t see Romney as being able to get super majorities in the Senate, and only because the Democrats have not inspired confidence, economically speaking. Can Romney explain what is so rotten in the (non)Affordable Health Care bill as to express the urgency of eliminating it off the books? Nobody read the bill, as HHS Sebelius is still writing it...

Could that be a good thing for us... I mean, that Mitt is afraid to do the shows and off the cuff things?

We think of Mitt as being tightly scripted and unlikely to say anything to hurt himself, but he’s not quite got that act perfected.

We tend to hold our breath when Newt is interviewed because he can be great or go off on a wild tangent.

I haven’t watched Santorum this morning... wondering what he will say to convince people he still has a chance.

Morning AB, All.

Good to see y’all up and about this morn. As always, thank you AB for doing this thread. On Sundays I get up, prepare my morning ablutions, and sit down with daily meds and morning coffee, secure that when I click in, the Sunday Morning Talk Show Thread shall be there.

Not much major going on down here in the swamps except that, get this, I somehow, without even opening my mouth, ended up as campaign treasurer for some guy running for county council.

Well I’m thinking I musta opened my mouth somewhere but I don’t know where, I’m thinking maybe I was surreptitiously drugged or some such.

Just got the link to the Delaware campaign finance laws and am....TADA....A campaign Treasurer.

Heh.

Someday I shall shut my big mouth that this sort of thing does not happen to me.

Football analogy (forgiven, I hope, since it’s Super Bowl Sunday)... we’ve all seen teams get ahead and then play defense and lose.

Let’s hope this happens to Mitt.

Let’s just keep eating each other up and the last man standing will be Barrack Obama. Sounds like a geat strategy to me.

If we all lay down our lives for our brothers all we’ll have left is sisters. And if the world is populated only with sisters......well, you know where I’m going with this.

That's what happens when a party fails to persuade people to support it.

I have to agree with rodguy911 on this.  I plan on supporting Santorum first here in CO, then Newt second and finally Romney third.  But no matter who wins the nomination I will support our candidate over 0bama.

It should also be noted that IF Romney wins the candidacy, he will be under close scrutiny and pressure from the base to stay conservative and uphold our values.

I understand the outcome in OR since we have had similar experiences here in CO.  But, and it's a huge BUT, there is NO way we can survive as a country if 0bama is reelected.  That's the difference this time around.

In the mean time, here in CO, we will keep working to get more Tea Party aligned candidates elected and we'll grow the base of conservative thinking voters.

Mayor bloomin-idiot on with Gregory decrying the lack of gun control measures at the federal level, despite the fact that gun deaths are down in NY, further says 400,000 Americans have been killed by firearms....more than killed in wars.

Idiot, than why aren’t you concerned about the 40 million babies murdered by the RATs and “murderit” Republicans?

HAHA! Wallace says time to bring in Mitt...er I mean Bill Kristol.

Republicans are great at self destruction. The Democrats on the other hand couldn’t self destruct with an H bomb, such is the power of the press.

Of course I’ve forgotten the exact figures, but in Florida Romney ran about 100 times the number of tv and radio ads that Newt was able to run.

Within those controlled settings, Romney comes across as conservative, thoughtful, etc.

Newt needs money.

Speaking of this war on the Catholic church, I am FURIOUS over this.

And here in the swamps of Delaware, home of Joe Biden who wears his ashes on every Ash Wednesday proudly that lying baby-killing creep....the complaints from my pulpit are silent!

So if ham should suddenly be discovered to be a great and wonderful cure...THAN ALL JEWS MUST EAT IT! Is this how it’s going to go? Like, I don’t care what the hell you believe, I am the gubmint and I will crap all over your deeply held beliefs.

Where has my country gone?

If the GOP has to depend on another energetic, lively, enthusiastic VP candidate to help pull their nominee over the finish line, that says more about the inherent problems with the GOP.

CBS exit polling at the IA caucuses had some 65% wishing they had 'someone other' to vote for, and their were more candidates then than now.

Similar, after FL.

The general Republican public do not care for the line-up, but what is their alternative?

It seems that the next election [November] will be another 'hold your nose' or go fishing.

For many Republicans, the end result of this campaign is going to be about forgiveness.

Which candidate do you forgive the most? None of the 4 remaining are paragons, so which get the most forgiveness for his past errors in judgement?

Whomever one selects, one thing is sure:
