Government Motors is downplaying its association with Obamanomics and the big gov bailout it took from Fedzilla.
The Apocalypse theme seems particularly apt though, since an economic wasteland is what Obama is leaving for America. The Barry Manilow song makes the whole ad sound gay.

Thanks for the explanation. I didn't get the commercial at first. I think my ears must not be completely engaged. I thought they said Dave was driving “foreign”. I guess “Ford” makes more sense. No way GM would slam the foreign truck market. Man, I just hate it when I don't “get” commercials and have to have them explained. Makes me feel old, lol.
The Manilow music made it even weirder.
Disclaimer: With the exception of my “fun” classic car..I have always driven a Chevy truck. I'll be switching to Ford for my next, and hopefully last purchase.

Saw the ad..it was pretty stupid. Twinkies..that was the perfect touch for this twinkie ad.

I got off a phone call with my mother, and she was complaining about not even understanding any of the ads, but maybe the septuagenarian demographic is not what people are after.
Dad coached football for almost 40 years as well as playing it in HS and in the 20th AF, and when it comes to the sport he has been around the block. My dad's comment on the pre-game show was "These people are making themselves look like dumb-asses."

HA HA yeah, they down play their obamanomics associantions, but bend their knee for their $?,000,000.00 bonuses from nobama. At least Ford is still a “private corporation”, not government owned.

Actually wondering why anybody would buy anything that is advertised on the Super Bowl! After all, if they were already successful, they would not need the advertising... If they weren’t successful, they must be really bad anyway.
As to GM, I’m really surprised that they would spend this kind of money to try to change the public’s mind - way too late, they are Government Motors and they can NOT change! Go you corrupt Unions - GO!
Ford - probably a good advertisement for them here...heh.

I drive a '99 Ford Ranger.
Maybe I'll get a new vehicle in the Gingrich administration.

GM attacking Ford is like the U.S. Government attacking private businesses. Oops! Wait a minute.... Like someone else said, that ad IS “gay”.

If I was Ford I’d start running that ad where the buyer talks about wanting to buy Ford because they were not bailed out.
And keep running it forever.
