WH: Women 'Deserve' to Have Catholic Church Buy Them Sterilizations...and Abortifacients
CNS News ^ | 02/06/2012 | Fred Lucas

White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said Monday that American women "deserve" to have their employers buy them health insurance plans that cover sterlizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions, with no fees or co-pay, even if the employer is a Catholic or Catholic organization that adheres to the church teaching that sterilization, artificial contraception and abortifacients are morally wrong and that Catholics cannot be involved in them.

"I understand that there have been objections and that some people disagree with us and we are going to work with institutions that have concerns here," Carney told reporters. "But I think it's important to note here that we believe these services are important and that American women deserve to have access to that kind of insurance coverage regardless of where they work."

Yesterday my priest got up and gave his sermon...a sermon like I’ve never heard before. He told us that we were not going to take this...Catholics have first amendment rights too.

We ALWAYS hear about the need for separation of church and state. Government may not entangle itself with religion. But now government is beyond an entanglement...they are dictating to religious institutions not only what we must do...but that we have no right to our religious principles.

This IS a declaration of war. You know how serious Obama’s intention is in this case...because his media refuses to cover this crisis.

ABCBSCNNPRPBSNBC know the administraiton is attempting to break the church. So...they...simply...pretend...it...isn’t...happening.

Slime.

Single women are the largest Kenyan lizard voting block. The lizard is just buying votes.

Catholics will retaliate. All religious people should understand the attack on religious belief. I predict the Kenyan will attack Jews next.

some people?

Howzabout God, Mr Carney?

Oh, that's right. You and your boss believe in Him insofar as that "concept" is able to gin up more votes for you.

Good. I just wish 90% of the Catholic politicians like Biden and Pelosi would get on board with their Church.

The Catholic church should start shutting down its hospitals and schools.

That's the objective. Then there would be less competition for the government-run schools and hospitals.

“Solutions” “at the price of apostasy”

Before Christ’s second coming the Church must pass through a final trial that will shake the faith of many believers.

The persecution that accompanies her pilgrimage on earth will unveil the “mystery of iniquity” in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.

CNS does not need to be excerpted. Here is the rest of the article.

On Jan. 20, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius finalized a regulation, under the new health-care law, that requires all health-care plans in the United States to cover sterilizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions. The regulation has an exceedingly narrow exemption for “religious” employers that would effectively cover only an actual parish church—but not a Catholic hospital, university, or charitable organization. Catholic individuals, Catholic business owners and Catholic insurers would be compelled by the mandate to act against the teachings of their church.

The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops told HHS in September that the regulation was an “unprecedented attack on religious liberty” and has urged the administration to rescind it in its entirety. Carney has said that President Barack Obama supports the regulation.

At Catholic Masses over the past two Sundays, Catholic priests across America have read letters from their local bishops decrying the mandate as a direct attack on the First Amendment right to the free exercise of religion and call on Catholics to resist it.

For example, in Catholic churches in Virginia on Sunday, priests read a letter from Arlington Bishop Paul S. Loverde and Richmond Bishop Francis X. DiLorenzo that said: “In so ruling, the administration has cast aside the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, denying to Catholics our nation’s first and most fundamental freedom, that of religious liberty. And as a result, unless the rule is overturned, we Catholics will be compelled either to violate our consciences, or to drop health coverage for our employees (and suffer the penalties for doing so). The administration’s sole concession was to give our institutions one year to comply.”

“We cannot — we will not — comply with this unjust law,” the bishops said.

White House Press Secretary Carney said Monday that the administration has worked to “find the appropriate balance” between upholding the First Amendment right to free exercise of religion and requiring that all American women be given health insurance that covers sterilizations, contraceptives and abortifacients without fees or co-pay.

“We have worked to find the appropriate balance between religious beliefs and the need to provide preventive services to American women and to make sure that American women have access to those services regardless of where they work,” Carney said. “And we have carved out an exemption for churches and other houses of worship and we will work going forward with institutions where the employer is affiliated with a church for example but where many, many of the employees are of all faiths to find a way to ensure that the policy is implemented and all women have access to these services that also deals with the concerns that have been expressed.”

The problem, of course, is that many of these bishops supported Obama in the last election, precisely for his proposed policy on healthcare for all. These are not ignorant or naive men. When they aligned themselves with the administration to receive Federal funds for their institutions, they crossed a line in the sand. With those funds, one also accepts government dictates. The Federal Government is now cashing in. What will it be? You can't have it both ways.

“The Catholic church should start shutting down its hospitals and schools.”

The Catholics should wait until the tanks and armored personnel carriers show up. Let 0bama burn the hospitals and schools down. Janet Reno can come out of retirement and take charge of the operation.

Doubling down.

It is scary stuff to see that they even think that they have a chance of getting away with this. Is the WH really this politically inept, or do they have something we don’t know about.

< Obummercare was too late to help Obummer`s mother, who "deserved" to have her employer buy her health insurance plans that covered sterlizations and all FDA-approved contraceptives, including those that cause abortions, with no fees or co-pay, even if it included aborting her Obummer baby.

Carney should have said, `` But I think it's important to note here that we believe these services are important and that American women, including my mother and Obummer`s mother, and Holder`s mother, Pelosi`s mother and Reid`s mother, deserved to have access to that kind of insurance coverage regardless of where they work so that they could have aborted us." So Carney and all Demorats are exempt from their own argument?

This is a fallacious argument, patently false, because if they applied it to their own cases it will not stand up.

According to Carney, therefore, Michelle should have been encouraged by Obummer to have had the opportunity to abort both her daughters because it is for all women, according to Carney and Obummer....

The bishops need to do more, The Pope needs to “speak out” and directly to this situation. The bishops need to rally all U.S. Catholics, and all other Christians, Jews and Muslims, that this is an intrusion into freedom of religion. What happens when Sebelius & Obama take on end of life mandates? And don’t think it won’t happen, they need to have savings to make it look like Obamacare can work. This time it is “first they came after the Catholics”.
