Thoughts on Fair Taxation
The Band Of Patriots ^ | 1/6/12 | Bryan Thomas

President Obama is now campaigning all of the country in the name of “fairness” especially how it relates to the US Tax Code. According to President Obama, “fair” means a progressive tax (where as one makes more money, they pay a higher percentage in taxes). What he’s trying to do through his “fairness” campaign is make the progressive tax more progressive by increasing tax rates on those that have higher incomes. According to the Obama administration, it is more “fair,” to raise taxes on the rich. I’m here to tell you that this isn’t true.

Of course all of that is nonsense. The left needs to realize that “fairness” has a real definition, much like racism also has a definition. The left tries to make up definitions for words to make them fit their radical agendas. Fairness can be defined as “the state, condition, or quality of being fair, or free from bias or injustice; evenhandedness”. The two parts that stand out to me would be “free from bias” and “evenhandedness.” This means that everyone is treated the same. No matter who you are, where you come from, how you live, or what you look like, you are treated the same. By the real term of fairness, how exactly is a progressive tax fair? Then another question must be asked. How is making the progressive tax more progressive more fair for everyone?

It is NOT ‘fair’ for one to keep what he earns. What is earned must be confiscated BY FORCE and with much recrimination. Then it may be divided between government officials who did NOT earn it and those who vote for said officials.

The main criteria for ‘fairness’ is that any increase in value must end up in the hands of those who contributed nothing. The secondary consideration is that the productive member of society must be castigated, humiliated, condemned in the harshest terms, and punished for his impudence in daring to create value.

Obama is the World Grand Master of ‘fairness’.

There’s only one “fair” taxation number. 0%.

The country got along just fine for 137 years without an income tax, then the progressives had to muck it up in 1913.

One thing that bothers me about the tax code is every year we get a bonus check of 1,000 bucks but by the time they take out 42% for federal taxes it is a little over 600 bucks. What did the government do to earn or get the 42%?

NOT A DAMN THING!!!!!!

“Fair” is everybody pays the same flat rate percentage, if we are going to have a Federal income tax.
No deductions, no incentives, and no accountants needed.
“Fair” doesn’t mean over 40% of the population does not pay any Federal income tax at all.

And “Fair” would mean a much smaller government, doing what we all pay taxes for them to do.

A fair tax code would be so simple that no one would have to pay the Tax Code Compliance Industry to prepare their tax forms.

A fair tax code would be so simple that it’s compliance costs wouldn’t add to the cost of the product of American workers so as to make the product of American workers less competitive in world markets.

A fair tax code would be so simple that Bill O’Reilly could explain all it’s provisions to a room full of small business owners in 10 minutes.

A fair tax code would be so simple the Tax Code Compliance Industry couldn’t afford to pay media corporations billions of dollars to push their services and products.

No, the author goes off the tracks here. The reason why Democrats use the word ‘fairness’ is because the term is completely subjective. And because of that it is a very useful term to turn the less successful against the more successful, as Obama is doing somewhat successfully.

Here in Maryland we have a one party state and the Democrats in power keep increasing spending on stuff we don't use while raising multiple taxes on the rich for ‘fairness’. But they are not getting the revenue from ‘the rich’ to pay for the spending. They are getting the revenue from raising the sales tax, the alcohol tax, the gasoline tax, income taxes on those earning more than 100K $, all taxes on the middle class and poor. And guess what; the black liberal leaders here are defending it .
The taxes on the rich are just the ‘fairness’ sugar to make the taxes on us not seem so bad. Sadly Republicans at the national level are not effectively making this case.

Whenever a Politician talks of increasing taxes anywhere, HOLD ON TO YOUR WALLET. For they are soon coming after you!

Once the increased tax, on the rich in this case, fails - Guess who they come after next?? You!

No, that is just their act. Taxing the rich is all just a part of their plan to tax everyone else from the start. It's the sugar in the poison (they would say medicine) to make it seem like it doesn't taste bad.

They tax the rich so they can say to you :”Look at how we made the rich really sacrifice. But we only need a little help from you too. And then we will have all these ‘investments’ that will makes things better for the future. it's all very 'fair'."

Fair is not everyone being taxed at the same rate. Suppose the tax rate is 10%. A person making 100,000 dollars would pay 10,000, while a person making 10,000 would pay 1,000. The person making 100,000 dollars would still pay 10X more tax than the person making 10,000 dollars. This would still be a progressive tax scheme. To be truly fair people would either pay the exact same amount, i.e. 1,000 dollars a head, or only pay sales tax. Sales taxes are the fairest tax, because they tax products that are at the point of sale. They are essentially a usage tax. If you wanted to lower your taxes, you would use less.
