Maybe General Motors thought the ad was about cars.
The ad was not about cars.
The ad gave me the message that Obama is halfway through his eight years, and we should all support him. This was basically a taxpayer funded Obama camapign ad. The people who made the ad understood this. This was their mandate.
I guess Clint and GM didn't get the memo.

The people who made the ad understood this. This was their mandate.That was exactly my impression, immediately and without having to do any deep analysis. By the way, it was a Chrysler ad. (Born and raised in Detroit and now living in a western suburb, I did not like Eminem's Chrysler ad from last year either.)

You saw that subliminal message too? If you find the right Youtube video online, while you can't play it in slo-motion, you can repeatedly hit the pause/start button and see the subliminal message saying
