LONDON -- Meteorologists say ice-free seas in the arctic caused by global warming could explain a chill wind covering much of Europe that has killed more than 300 people.
Experts said they believe complex wind patterns are being affected as melting arctic sea ice has exposes huge areas of normally frozen ocean to the atmosphere above, bringing bitterly cold weather to Britain and the rest of Europe.
The loss of arctic sea ice could be influencing high-pressure weather systems over northern Russia that bring very cold winds from the arctic and Siberia to Western Europe and the British Isles, scientists said.
"The current weather pattern fits earlier predictions of computer models for how the atmosphere responds to the loss of sea ice due to global warming," Professor Stefan Rahmstorf of the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in Germany said.

See, it’s like this. It’s getting colder because of global warming, which is melting the North Pole. Look, it’s complicated. You’ve got to be a Scientist to understand it.
Too much snow = global warming. Too warm = global warming. Too cold = global warming. Just right = global warming.
I knew global warming was causing the cold weather. I hope we get about a foot of global warming next week.

Mor hog wash about how globull warming is causing cold weather. The arctic seas are free of ice every summer yet it doesn’t cause cold weather.

You do realize this is about a computer model that says the sea ice has melted. None of these guys have gone up there to check on the sea ice extant ~ which you can see right here http://nsidc.org/data/seaice_index/images/daily_images/N_daily_extent_hires.png Notice that the sea ice WEST of Alaska exceeds their baseline (orange line) and it’s MUY COLDO up there ~ the exact opposite of Europe where the sea ice NORTH of Europe is less than their baseline (orange line) and it’s MUY COLDO there too, the exact opposite of Alaska. WELL JUST DARN!
I swear I just read a story about how the extent of sea ice in the Bering Sea was impacting this years Opi harvest.
Wait just a minute now, you can’t use facts in this discussion. You’ll just confuse everyone.
Heat is given up to the atmosphere as ice is formed, therefore, freezing ice should warm the planet.
If global warming is causing the Earth to cool, then why would we want to make the Earth even colder (theoretically) by stopping or absurdly taxing fossil fuels?
If such fanciful hyperbole were actual reality, wouldn't this then send us into a deep-freeze and end life on Earth?
I have never heard them once say that ending fossil fuels would cause make the Earth warmer.
In the vain of playing whirling derbish with logic and reason, they are all screaming that the planet is going to be wiped out by either heat or cold. (really? ya think? fairly wide margin for error they are giving themselves isn't it?) And them seem equally gleeful over either scenario.
The only consistent theme from these loonies is that we are all going to die unless we give Algore millions of billions of trillion dollars to save the planet. Only he and the U.N. and our wallets and savings and retirement plans in their bank accounts can save us all from destruction!!!!!!!!!!
