NEW YORK The agency building the new World Trade Center has let costs get out of control, with the estimated price tag soaring nearly $4 billion over the last four years, auditors said today. Navigant Consulting said the project is now expected to cost $14.8 billion, 35 percent more than the last estimate, of $11 billion, in 2008. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo and New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie ordered the review of the World Trade Center site's owner, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, after the agency's board voted to raise bridge and tunnel tolls in August.

Cronies taking care of cronies ...that’s what America has become and us average responsible USA taxpayers are being had. NYC is the ultimate example of connected cronies padding the pockets of other connected cronies. Their gig has been going on since before 9-11.

Arizona needs to send state police up there to see who is stealing the money.

Everything is fine.
It all went into the pockets of the union bosses, where it belongs.
You got a problem with that?

Typical Union Labor result.
If it would have been competitively bid, WITHOUT requiring Union Labor, it would have been completed by now, and the cost would be on-budget.
This is what Socialists do (Socialists Workers' Party=Unions)

Seriously??? I went down for a weekend (Black Friday) and took the girlfriend on a detour to Staten Island where she was born before heading into Manhattan.
Two bridges and one tunnel--total tolls: $26.00
Total tolls for the rest of the trip both there and back: $11.00.
Spare me.

Whenever you have Democrats and liberals running things, you always seem to get these multi-billion-dollar “missing money” phenomena.

Oh, for goodness' sake; the originals were built from the ground up for less than 2% of this latest overrun in 1% of the time.
What the H@ll is going on in this country?

I was surprised it was so low, until I read further, and found the original estimate of $6 Billion.
That's more like it. They should be able to triple the original estimate before it's over, so let's go with $18 Billion, minimum.
