(Reuters) - Former U.S. senator Rick Santorum rejuvenated his presidential hopes on Tuesday with a shocking sweep of the three nominating contests in Colorado, Minnesota and Missouri, dealing a blow to wounded front-runner Mitt Romney.

Good analysis.

Obama can’t run on his record, so he’ll have to go negative. Santorum is the hardest guy to go negative on.

Yesterday, Santorum showed that Romney is not inevitable.
Your post shows that Santorum is in the best position to beat Obama.

So now Romney will go after Santorum. We will see a barage of negative ads directed towards him like there was against Newt. All pundit talk will be, "He can't win!"

The result? Likely Newt will take the next primaries or the public will be sick of Romney's attack strategy and Santorum will win more.

Either way, I think good ol' Mitt is done! I could certainly breathe easier if our choice is between Gingrich and Santorum with Romney watching from the sidelines!

Could be reverse psychology perhaps? Pretend you would like to face the one you don’t want to face? Too many folks get sucked into the political process and fail to use their own judgment.

" People are voting for family values while the country is in dire straits financially and with corruption. "

WOW ! for this to be a " Conservative " site, would have never though of hearing that here in 2012.... just amazing, it tells us how far we have fallen in this country....

If ? it was not for the fact that we have fallen as a country from our values and family values we would not be in this financial and corrupt mess that we see our country in today... just absolutely stunned and amazed by your statement...

" Is it time for Newt to drop out? "

Yeah, why not say it, yes he should for the sake of beating Romney.
We heard it non-stop here on FR from the Newt supporters and other supporters of other candidates for over 2 months now.
Do the math, Santorum has won more states than all of them... Newt is dropping in the polls.... and yes, we will get some people saying that the polls don't matter, that is ? unless Newt is leading in all of them..

WSJ:
Methodology: Delegate numbers for each state are after the application of penalties and include unpledged delegates. In some states where actual delegates are assigned and bound to support candidates by multi-step procedures, the AP uses results from local caucuses to calculate the number of national delegates each candidate eventually will win and assigns those delegates at the end of the caucus. Additionally, the AP interviews unpledged delegates to determine their preferences and includes them in the total; these national party leaders have the freedom to back any candidate of their choosing and may make the decision about which candidate to support at any time during the primary process, and they may or may not tell reporters of their decisions. (See correction.)

Note: This tally excludes nine delegates each for American Samoa, Guam, Northern Marianas and the Virgin Islands, and Puerto Rico, with 23.
