Just walked in from CPAC and all I can say is, "Wow!" A hotel filled with 12,000+ Conservative Activists and supporters was very impressive and I mostly went down to cover the supposed protest by Occupy DC and their thug union pals as part of Big Government.com's coverage.
As far as the protesters, I can sum it all up in two words, "Epic Fail!" First of all Conservatives had spread the word about them claiming they would assault certain Conservative Figure and disrupt the convention with criminal acts. Seem the damage was done when Human Events reported that union thugs had been paid to protest and there were about 30 of them left when I showed up. Around 5 pm several dozen showed up from the local union to protest none of the Presidential Candidates, but Governor Scott Walker. DC Police and Hotel security limited them to the sidewalk and it was the standard government goodies they were demanding you and I pay for. About 3 protesters were able to enter the hotel, but were quickly ejected by the hotel staff, so thus their mission to disrupt CPAC was a complete failure.
CPAC itself would lift and Conservative's spirits as the hotel was crammed with activists, but what was most endearing is there were allot of young Conservatives in the place and I had to think that Ronald Reagan was smiling down from heaven. I saw allot of old friends and new faces which included Speaker Gingrich and his Wife, the Ron Paul Supporters were in full effect and looking forward to return tomorrow morning for the close out.

The didn’t have West’s speech on today. Was very disappointed. Instead they played reruns of this morning.

Well here is the inside skinny on that. Mittens arrived last night and sought out the blessing of the Conservative Wise Men from what I was told from my sources, but Mittens didn’t seem to gain an converts among the faithful. Many people seem to be still divided over Newt or Rick(who actually showed some emotions in his speech)and the Paulbots were in full effect as well. This thing is going to end up brokered and many of my sources agree on that.
