CPAC 2012: Newt Gingrich hits the reset button.
Human Events ^ | February 11, 2012 | John Hayward

Posted on 02/11/2012 10:49:12 PM PST by true believer forever

No one can say they don’t know what Newt Gingrich will do after his inauguration. He’s got big plans…

He pledged to have a full list of his proposed executive orders and presidential findings published online by October, so that every voter will know exactly what they’re getting. He wants every Republican candidate to campaign with him on a pledge to hit the next Congress in a monster jam session that repeals the job-killing centralized corruption of ObamaCare, Dodd-Frank, and Sarbanes-Oxley by the time he’s sworn in…

… and that’s just an appetizer.

Within two hours of plopping his Dilbert calendar and family photographs on the Resolute Desk, he’ll have signed an executive order to cashier every one of the Obama czars. Then he’ll sign one to approve the oil pipeline from Canada to Houston. By lunch, he’ll have moved the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem. Next up would be re-instituting Ronald Reagan’s Mexico City policy, to forbid spending money to subsidize abortion overseas…

By the time ex-President Obama “lands in Chicago,” he aims to have repealed “40 percent of Obama’s government.”

When in that Timeline did he join Pelosi for a cuddle on the couch?
When in that timeline did he support DEde Scozafawa?
When in that Timeline did he do work for Fannie and Freddie?

And just to see your head explode,What will he do after Santorum is sworn in as President?

Sounds like just what I would call the Republican Establishment.

That’s pretty weak. One wonders when in your timeline you’ll post Santorum’s platform and explain how it’s better. Let me guess, Saint Rick’s platform is that he promises to kiss all the little babies, publish more family photos, and tell us over and over again that he’s the true conservative? LOL

This is great! This is the way to campaign. It takes all the guess work out of what will the candidates do when they are elected.

Everyone's biggest fear is that of the big three still running,Newt,Mitt and Santorum they won't do the right thing. All this is based on past performance.Campaigning like this spells it out and it will fly everywhere.

And I believe I asked you to reply with something substantial. It seems the supporters of Saint Rick and Rick himself are only good at insulting the other candidates... not at offering solutions. How about you tell me how Saint Rick’s platform is better? Maybe you could start with explaining why Saint Rick voted against a flat tax, refuses to promote one now, and also bashed the fair tax? Maybe you could explain to me why your boy Rick doesn’t support a flat, fair corporate tax favoring ALL business, as opposed to just certain FAVORED businesses of his?

The vapid nature of “conservatives” these days continues to shock me, over and over again. Keep this s*** up and we’ll lose Newt the same way we lost Cain, and then we’ll be stuck with Saint Rick whose best quality is that he smiles real good and hugs his family a lot.

Not sure how you came up with “everyone” wanted to... Newt was a civilian, and he gave his reasons for what he was doing. A lot of people might have thought what he did was different from what they wanted, or would do under the same circumstances, but lynch? Over the top, and jumping the shark. One could have done a /sarc or a JMHO.

My only comment would be, I hope “everyone” is going to be willing to support the nominee, (fill in the blank) once the incendiary primary is over.

Good catch here. When Santorum’s voting record comes up its abysmal compared to Newt and Mitt is all too well known starting with Mittcare and it only gets worse.

we’ll be stuck with Saint Rick whose best quality is that he smiles real good and hugs his family a lot.

He's an 'umble man, is Mr. Rick.

I haven't liked him from the start because I thought he reminded me of Jimmy Carter, sort of smug and condescending in his little blue sweater. Then I realized he really reminded me of Uriah Heep. I think he's a very ambitious man, not because of any ideas he may have, but because he really wants to be president and frankly, he'll do anything to get it.

Like Romney, Santorum appears to have been doing nothing recently but run for president. He virtually moved to Iowa and spent most of the year before the vote traveling around the state, for example. He has no positions that would distinguish him in any way, but ran on being a "good family man" and dragging his long-suffering family around with him to prove it.

See, THIS is the Newt who should have been campaigning since before Iowa! I knew he was there, but was hiding. I hope there’s enough time to make a difference!

That was not the base of the party and CPAC is no longer Conservative... and neither is the republican party... but when we are finished with this Conservative revolution... it will be Conservative.

Exactly. CPAC, Ann Coulter, Sean Hannity, and the rest are now part of the problem, rather than part of the solution.

I have always been an "anyone but obama type."

Right now however we have the chance to put in the best of the big three.

Your point about Newt only accentuates that he remains what I have been saying for 5 years here on this board hes still 80/20.

80% of the time he's brilliant the rest he's obviously not. Out of 300 million citizens these are our choices. These three. We have to live with that.
