The point is that college is not where you learn the DI disipline. There will be plenty of time for that with his DI.
The point IS the college professor sets the rules for attendance in his class. You violate the rules you suffer the consequences........"Basic Facts of Life - 101" which you should have learned at home.......
You on the other hand feel the kid needs to still be treated as a child and nurtured.......I can understand that.
You and I won't ever agree on the proper course of action but I'm confident that my assesment will benefit the kid more in life than yours will.......
>>>Im sure nakedRampage is smiling at your response as well.......you condecending *&^%<<<
Well, I was aiming at heartfelt. But I’m sure Mike Adams is also aiming at certain things and getting unexpected reactions; sometimes expressing things with certainty just pisses people off. On reflection, once I knew the guy was 18, a lot of things fell into place. I know I annoyed the crap of my professors (and family and friends) when I was 18. Then you get old and it all takes on a more mellow glow. That’s how it goes.

If (make that when, as soon as I get that piece of paper from the univeristy) I join the military, the DI is more than welcome to do what he has to do. Will I enjoy being verbally smacked around by a DI? Probably not, but I'll go into knowing that he is in charge, and he has a job to do, eg whip me into shape to keep myself and those around me alive if at all possible.
Professors? Not nearly as much responsibilty. They just tend to be bitter jerks on power trips.
Heartfelt is what I got out of it, no hard feelings. As I re-read my comments I can see I came off as kind of a punk. My vocabulary and manner of expression has dropped in quality since starting college. Its pervasive, gets in through your pores. :)

Now I’m really smiling. God bless you in life’s journey.
LOL! Clever.
