ObamaCare is Tyranny, Not Legislation
American Thinker ^ | March 18, 2010 | Janice Shaw Crouse

What we're seeing in Washington, D.C. is not "politics as usual" with the arm twisting and "horse-trading" that is typical in getting a bill passed; instead, it is ideological warfare. What Obama, Reid, and Pelosi are doing is not legislating; it is an act of tyranny -- overturning all the rules and principles of government in a representative democracy. Attempting to pass the Senate version of ObamaCare in the House under the ironically named "Slaughter Rule" (to circumvent the objections of the Stupak coalition to taxpayer funding of abortion) is an exercise in raw power akin to the many acts of judicial tyranny the American public has endured over the last forty years from judges who have little regard for the Constitution.

Apparently Obama, Reid, and Pelosi aren't worried about losing control of Congress in 2010 or even the presidency in 2012, because their higher goal is to irrevocably institutionalize their ideology. Once government control of health care is established, their leftist principles will be implemented by an unelected bureaucracy that rules without accountability to the general public, whether or not the Democratic Party is the majority in Congress or holds the presidency.

Obama, Reid, and Pelosi have learned nothing from history; they are as blind to their own tyranny as were King George and the British Parliament. They show no comprehension of the moral outrage that will ignite in this country if they ram through ObamaCare, a bill that requires taxpayer funding for abortion, usurps an individual's right to choose her own personal health care options, and saddles the nation with a growing flood of debt which will drown our children and grandchildren.

Old piece. A reminder of where we were, and now are. Obama must have picked this recent fight to remind his base of his accomplishments, and they are considerable.

Although I am no longer a big Ann Coulter fan, her characterization of Obamacare as “socialism by insurance” was spot on .

Those two are not one in the same.
Obama losing the Pelosi house greatly increased his chances of re-election this year. A similar thing happened regarding the 1994 take-over of congress and BC’s re-1996 election.

Ask yourself this. Who has been doing the protesting since Boehner took the hosue from Pelosi? Who is demoralized with their party? Which side has been caving and going along with the other beyond early symbolic votes?

But I think we will see a new challenge to the whole ObamaCare Bill from religious groups based on the “free exercise” clause of the first amendment. If the court does not find it unconstitutional based on the individual mandate.

After spending the morning with my daughter and soon-to-be son-in-law, I’m convinced that our colleges are producing idiots. Both are well educated adults and graduated from UNC Chapel Hill in photo-journalism. I know my daughter has a high IQ and went to Westminster Christian Academy in Ladue, Missouri. Here’s the rub:

In discussing the Obama mandated contraception and abortion laws regarding health care by employers on the Catholic Church, Protestant Church, and Jewish faith, which goes against the teaching of the Judeo-Christian texts, these two knuckleheads see nothing wrong with the Federal Government going against the 1st Amendment in dictating this must be provided regardless of church doctrine. Our country was based on the freedom of religion, expression, and freedom from Government Tyranny. Numb Nuts (NN), doesn’t see why this shouldn’t be mandated and that the Church’s stance based on doctrine is irrelevant.

When I brought up the position that our part of our country‘s founding, based upon the Federalist Papers, was based upon freedom of religion. NN claimed that our country was based upon killing the American Indian. Though history is a good example of Tyranny, the pacification of native Indians by force, it is not what was happening in England during the 15th and 16th century.

All of this was shoved in my face while they ate my food, in my house, using my energy and crapping in my toilets. I can hardly wait to drop in on them and raid their fridge when they get married and watch their expressions when I become him and his slobbery way of life.

Why people don't get this just stuns me. Ask them next time you see them if they understand that these mandates will come in two flavors. When the government has the power to give, it also has the power to take. They favor this particular mandate because it adds to the benefit package. Will they feel the same when the mandate removes benefits? Granted there wasn't much flexibility in the system before Obamacare, but now there will be none, and it will be driven by politics. Suppose someone comes to power that doesn't want to treat breast cancer. Far fetched, but the power's there.

Many of the young are both blind and brainwashed. It seems that us “old folks” need just run for office and play the game to our own advantage (actually, such a system won’t hold together too long - witness what is happening in Greece).

Another tragic example of government school Marxist indoctrination. Government schools are the downfall of this Republic.

You have my sympathy. But I can't imagine after what you described that there's any food in the world that would be desirable enough to make you suffer their company to get it. Personally, a tuna salad sandwich in the comfort of my own home tastes far better to the finest filet mignon served in the presence of arrogant, narcissist, liberal ass-hats.

Hussein has assumed near dictatorial powers. I wish I had kept a list of his diktats these past three years. There is little to limit his personal control over banking, finance, our currency, health care, insurance companies, autos, our appliances, higher education, student loans. . . and I’m sure I missed much more.

The Framer’s Constitution assumed each branch would protect their just powers from encroachment by the other branches. That model is just about gone, and little time remains to reclaim our sovereign powers.

Try to listen to Hussein’s speech from today. They are the words of a fake benevolent strongman, not an American President.
