Remember when George Stephanopoulos, at the New Hampshire Republican debate on January 7, brought up and harped on whether the candidates thought states could ban contraception?
Everyone, at least on our side of the aisle, shook their heads in disbelief as to why Stephanopoulos was bringing up the issue. There was no active controversy over contraception, it wasnt in the news, and there were far more pressing political issues, yet what seemed like an eternity of debate time was devoted to the subject at the insistence of Stephanopoulos.
It was, shall we say, something out of left field.
When Romney said, its working just fine, leave it alone, everyone laughed. [video at link--look at Romney being flabbergasted at the question]
Newts comeback was prophetic in hindsight. [Video at link, have to say, Newt's answer is superb]
Well what do you know, about a month later the Obama administration proposes administrative rules under Obamacare which would require free contraception be provided even by religious institutions which oppose contraception on religious grounds.
Its almost as if Stephanopoulos got the memo first. Unless, of course, you believe in coincidences.
The GOP is stupid for allowing mainstream media personalities to moderate debates. They are the enemy, and they are in cahoots with Obama.
I was thinking the same thing a couple days ago also.
Stephi was scripted by the White House , of course. But, more confounding is why the republican candidates aren’t questioning why birth control pills are included in a health care package.
Obviously, he's still a paid employee of the party. He just went off the books.
Good call.
This clearly shows the link between the Democrats and the media.
And this is absolute genius by the Dems. The economy is in shambles, and has no chance of a real recovery, so, what do you do? “Look at this shiny object!” Make social issues the focus.
America was a great country. Obama’s second term will ensure there will be no comeback for America.
Oh yes . . . that was a what the heck moment at that debate and NOW this . . . hmmmm something smells.
if social issues are the focus we win, I am not sure how this is a bad thing.

"I question the timing of this question" was never more appropriate."
Yep.
Also consider who was surging in the GOP polls at exactly the same time that Obama's decision was finally announced last week...
“if social issues are the focus we win, I am not sure how this is a bad thing.”
We disagree about the mindset of the average American then. I would submit to you that the average American is clueless about economics, but is more of a fiscal conservative. That same American is center left on social issues.
Obama’s re-election will confirm my opinion.
four more years of Obama and we will end up in a greece like fiscal crises followed by civil war.
Clearly this has been a staged “event” to differentiate between the enlightened progressives and the “keep ‘em barefoot and pregnant” neanderthal conservatives. Expect lots more in the coming months. We will hear about evolution as well.
“four more years of Obama and we will end up in a greece like fiscal crises followed by civil war.”
I agree with the Greece like crisis, as to Civil War, not sure. The people have been groomed. Those of us who weren’t are relatively few in number.
The idea was to lead Romney into putting the noose around his own neck in some fashion. Then use it in commercials.
If they get the majority of womens votes, they win. They know they have lost the men. There goal is to get younger women pissed off, along with crushing religion.
Around that time the Mississippi Personhood vote was a hot topic: and no, that wasn’t really about contraception, but the left was up in arms with the idea that the state was on the verge of banning the pill.
The parasites will not want to stop consuming and will get violent to keep stealing the assets and wealth of others.
At that point, there will be no police or order to keep things afloat and it will be utter chaos.
I was just discussing this yesterday with my friend.
Clearly, Stephanopoulos (the furry dwarf) was told to throw that seemingly “random” question into the mix.
The tactic was “Make the other side sound crazy, and try to tag any opposing viewpoint as some religious crusade to abolish contraception.”
ABC was clearly laying the groundwork for something yet I had no clue for what... Until the filthy Marxist pulled this latest stunt.
