A brokered convention: Jeb Bush vs. Sarah Palin
The Hill ^ | Monday February 13, 2012 | Bernie Quigley

Santorum’s contraception boom — “We’re all Catholics now,” said Mike Huckabee — won’t hold up. Because we’re not. This race could well go to a brokered convention. If Jeb Bush is proposed, so Sarah Palin should be minutes later. She is now and always has been the singular Jacksonian voice in the original Tea Party phenomenon; the only one who can bring it to the mainstream. Her absence from the primary race has left a vacuum and no substitute has been found. Every other possible or potential leadership hopeful has risen and receded in this long Republican primary season.

[....]

The Bush secret agenda has been a subliminal theme for months with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie as the favored proxy and pitchman. At CPAC it broke through to the surface: Al Cardenas, head of the American Conservative Union, says that Republican turmoil might lead to a brokered convention in which Jeb Bush would emerge as a “possible alternative” party nominee. It made Drudge this weekend.

Palin has always been about being the reluctant servant....she has stated so in so many words. If she was asked to serve in such a situation. I’m sure she would accept, Remember her interview in NY with Glenn Beck about being called to served?

I believe the deck is already stacked for Mittens. Maybe Sarah thinks that in a brokered convention that it will become obvious that the deck is stacked, and that people won’t tolerate it. I don’t blame Palin for not entering the fray, becaue I think that it is pretty much rigged against her, and she knows it. I don’t believe that the peoples voice is represented anymore in the primaries.

"Savior"? Really?... So you would prefer Our Sarah as a savior? Maybe you need a grip on perspective regarding saviors. Read your Bible.

The poster used the word "savior" with a small "s".

That would be a person who "rescues another from harm, danger, or loss".

Read your dictionary.

You are so predictable. My original post did have nice paragraphing, and one small bit of html. I forgot that here on FR if you have any html at all it breaks ordinary formatting. So I post it, and I see the defect, and I think to myself, what should I do? I knew you wouldn’t give a rat’s arse about the substance, that you would latch onto any defect in form to throw the whole thing out. And then it occurs to me, why should I waste your time and mine making it nice for you? So I let it stand, and you came through for me. Congratulations.

I don't agree with your assessment of Jackson. Jackson didn't believe that each person was capable of intellectual thought -- he was anti-intellectual. And while someone who is nothing but an intellectual would make a crappy President, so too would a person who lacks intellectuallism. The leaders we select should embody the best of who we are, not the average.

I am sure you realize you simply stated an unsupported opinion that is totally counter to the facts and the man’s historical record.
