Gallup now shows unemployment rate back up to 9% and underemployment over 19%

Here's something the left-wing Obama-worshiping media doesn't want anyone to know about... Gallup daily polling had the national unemployment rate at 8.2% just 30 days ago back on January 13 and has since soared back up as high as 9.1% yesterday. (It sits at 9.0% today.) Even though Gallup doesn't account for "seasonal adjustments" like the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics does, history has shown that the monthly U.S. jobs report generally tends to move in the same direction as the Gallup survey. So is this a sign of more ominous unemployment numbers in the months ahead?

As posted on its website: "Gallup tracks daily the percentage of U.S. adults in the workforce, ages 18 and older, who are underemployed, unemployed, and employed full-time for an employer, without seasonal adjustment. "Underemployed" respondents are employed part time, but want to work full time, or they are unemployed. "Unemployed" respondents are those within the underemployed group who are not employed, even for one hour a week, but are available and looking for work. Respondents "Employed Full Time for an Employer" are those who are employed by an employer for at least 30 hours per week. Daily results reflect 30-day rolling averages based on telephone interviews with approximately 30,000 adults. Because results are not seasonally adjusted, they are not directly comparable to numbers reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, which are based on workers 16 and older. Margin of error is ± 1 percentage point."

Unless my calculator (brain) is broken, 9% + 19% = 28%. Which means (I'm pretty sure) 28% of America's work force is unemployed and/or under-employed. But that 28% doesn't include people who have just given up after their benefits have expired.

Which also means that with the three added all together we are past the the unemployment percent during THE GREAT DEPRESSION! Now THAT's a record to run on!

I believe Gallup includes those unemployed and underemployed in the 19.1%.
