Thanx. Makes perfect sense.

Never thought I’d say it, but... Hillary’s right.
No troops in Syria, not to pursue the same objective as al-Qaeda.

Megiddo is within WMD range of Syria... within range of locations from which Syria (or its allies or proxies) could launch WMD
Har Megiddo

Hillary is a fool
Other then getting her craven husband reelected (and through him, herself) and endowing the Clinton family brand with grafted wealth by ruthless self-serving stinginess and greed, she hasn’t successfully achieved a major meaningful project or mission in her entire government career, or probably in her professional legal career either
Don’t confuse a gravelly voice, ruthless steely eyes, and sensible pants suits for gravitas

Dont confuse a gravelly voice, ruthless steely eyes, and sensible pants suits for gravitas I didn't, and I agree she's a nasty, corrupt creature. But I still don't want U.S. troops in Syria.

By my calculations, it's about 90mi from Damascus to Megiddo. As silverleaf pointed out, definitely within range of Syrian missiles and potential WMDs.
They have a mixture of a few hundred SCUD-Bs, SCUD-Cs, and SS-21s. Additionally, it's been reported they developed a longer range SCUD-D with North Korean assistance. This would allow them to deploy the launchers deeper into Syria and still reach all of Israel.

What Hillary said was completely idiotic.
I don’t want to see even one single American soldier in Syria - period. If they want to kill each other, let them. A repeat of what we did in Libya will usher in yet another radical islamic regime. Maybe Obama wants that, but we don’t.

Everyone knows the only reason Hillary was made Sec of State, was to stroke her ego and kept too busy to have time to challenge obama's reelection bid. And, like she once said: "I'm not going home to bake cookies".

Really, is that what the administration did in Libya?

If liberal democrats were sane & logical, I’d say that maybe Hillary was “setting the diplomatic bar” impossibly high to actually prevent the serious contemplation of a western (ie. US) intervention. But then nobody should deem the members of this administration as either ‘sane’ or ‘logical’.

Though why they wouldnt just invite in Russian peacekeepers instead is an important question, too.The Russians would love us there. Wasting more money we don't have, more American lives and more wear and tear on our inventory. In other words, more grinding down American might.

Well, reading Hillary Rodham's thin lying lips, if the Syrian regime (not necessarily Assad) "invites" troops to come into Syria, that's exactly what will happen. makes the ol' end times stuff sound more and more plausible, doesn't it. BTW, as I recall Saddam Hussein hit very close to Megiddo with a SCUD back in the DESERT STORM war. All of his warheads were conventional but everyone in Israel had to suit up as if....

No, the Russians would not “love us” to be there.
Syria, Assad and the port of Tartus are bought and paid for.
No western interference will be tolerated with one of their last prime Cold War proxies
Besides, their other buddies the Iranians would have a cow. That would be a bad thing because if they feel too isolated from the Levant, they will be even more dangerous, imho

I don’t see any “good guys” in Syria. We should leave them alone as they kill themselves off.
