How has the Obama administrations contraception mandate on religious organizations impacted Barack Obamas standing? According to a new Rasmussen poll, its had about the impact one would expect after a few days of consideration. Almost six in ten Catholics now disapprove of Obamas job performance, and a near-majority strongly disapprove:
Catholics strongly disapprove of the job President Obama is doing as the debate continues over his administrations new policy forcing Catholic institutions to pay for contraception they morally oppose. While the presidents overall job approval ratings have improved over the past couple of months, they have remained steady among Catholics.
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 59% of likely Catholic voters nationwide at least somewhat disapprove of the presidents job performance, while 40% at least somewhat approve. But the passions on the side of those who dont like the job hes doing: 44% Strongly Disapprove versus 19% who Strongly Approve.

I too believe that Obama is going for broke, and at break neck speed, because he expects to lose in 2012. To a Marxist it is far more important to institutionalize the cause than to institutionalize the man for a lousy second term.
Obama goes down as a martyr for hollowing out America beyond even a faint hope of rebuilding for decades, possibly forever.
The stunning rise of Marxists in America and of those sympathetic to socialism and communism can be laid squarely at the feet of American public education.
Still, education is on no one’s agenda but the Left. This is not irony, it’s suicide by us, the Right, the Conservatives, the churches, who all cheerfully send off our own kids, say nothing, do nothing, and vote for those who are the same.
For many people ,Catholic is just the social group they belong to,not that they hold firmly,or even loosely,to the Catholic tenets and beliefs.
The other 41% either don’t attend mass or are liberal Catholics.
Yep....In my workplace, liberal and mostly Democratic, you cannot mention Obama without them coming quickly to his defense. It’s become embarrassing working there and among them. If you attempt discussing the issues they are all brain dead about what they are....cannot formulate a single statement and their understanding of our country is at best limited what it can do for them.
The youth simply say they aren’t interested in politics. They haven’t a clue.
But they ALL “like” Obama......go figure!
Since, according to the article I include in my post, Catholics vote for Republicans in the same percentage as the rest of the population then this would mean that Obama is getting an even smaller amount of the Catholic vote than he did in 08. http://www.gallup.com/poll/151880/Protestant-Catholic-GOP-Vote-Similar-National-Average.aspx
It seems that many think that Catholics vote 100% for Dems and that this is 59% of 100% and therefor 41% of Catholics still support Obama. It’s more like the percentage of Catholics who do support the Dems (no more than any other religion actually) that 59% of them no longer support Obama and that the remaining 41% is of the percentage of those who vote Dem anyway so I would bet that the total who support Obama is somewhere around the national average of other religions.
“The guilt complex of these people is unreal.”
You are a complete idiot. The overwhelming majority of Catholics who go to church regularly and whose Christian faith means something to them absolutely reject Obama. The problem is the media always polls “catholics” as including someone baptized 40 years ago who never darkened the door of a church since then. It serves the media’s purposes well.
So you married a loser — that’s your fault. Don’t blame your bad choice on 67 million other people.
Don’t forget the 20% or so who know in their hearts the truth, but are conditioned against giving any answer perceived as “right wing”.
I am Catholic and I know of no Mass-attending Catholics that support Obama. None. Zilch. When you consider that there are 40 million Catholics in this country and probably about a quarter that attend regular Mass, I guess they are the Obama supporters. No Catholic that takes their faith
seriously can support a pro-abortion politician. It’s impossible. You also can’t be for abortion and be Catholic, that’s also impossible. So if there’s any person out there that thinks they’re still Catholic while believing in abortion, you need to find yourself a new faith.
“The Catholic Church has always condemned abortion as a grave evil. Christian writers from the first-century author of the Didache to Pope John Paul II in his encyclical Evangelium Vitae (”The Gospel of Life”) have maintained that the Bible forbids abortion, just as it forbids murder.... Thus, in 1995 Pope John Paul II declared that the Churchs teaching on abortion “is unchanged and unchangeable. Therefore, by the authority which Christ conferred upon Peter and his successors . . . I declare that direct abortion, that is, abortion willed as an end or as a means, always constitutes a grave moral disorder, since it is the deliberate killing of an innocent human being. This doctrine is based upon the natural law and upon the written word of God, is transmitted by the Churchs tradition and taught by the ordinary and universal magisterium. No circumstance, no purpose, no law whatsoever can ever make licit an act which is intrinsically illicit, since it is contrary to the law of God which is written in every human heart, knowable by reason itself, and proclaimed by the Church” (Evangelium Vitae 62).

Relax crusader71!
She voted for McCain. I was talking about her EXTENDED family. Lots of culturally conservative union-bots, who vote Democrat and bitch about phantom Protestant Republican businessmen keeping them down...as if this were the 1890’s.
And yes, I blame the 54% of Catholic VOTERS who, in 2008, went with Barack over their better judgement.
