What?! After everyone fought so hard in the last election to at least tie the [Commonwealth’s]Senate...This is how they pay everyone back it seems.

Time for another round of Virginia’s Least Wanted I’ll warrant.

I am done with Virginia republicans. They suck. First they push tollbooths down our throats because they don’t want to raise the gas tax. Now they are raising gas taxes anyway. We were better off with democrat governors and gridlock.

Nowhere in these articles or sources does it actually say what the tax increase is going to be. What is it? Is it four cents, twenty cents, one dollar? What the hell is it? What if the PPI is the same as last year? Does that mean no tax increase? What if it goes down? Is that a decrease? It doesn’t say any of those things.

This report contains just about zero information I can actually use to budget my transportation costs.

Talk to me, Virginians. What am I missing?

I think Harry Blevins is getting senile anyway. Hell, they’re ALL senile up in Richmond.

Is the Interstate (85 I think) still a toll road?

Apparently it only indexes the present 17.5 cents ($0.175) per gallon tax:

“Be it enacted by the General Assembly of Virginia:
10 1. That §§ 58.1-2217, 58.1-2249, 58.1-2289, as it may become effective, 58.1-2701, as it is currently
effective and as it may become effective, and 58.1-2706 of the Code of Virginia are amended and
reenacted as follows:
§ 58.1-2217. Taxes levied; rate.
A. There is hereby levied a tax at the rate of seventeen and one-half 17.5 cents ($0.175) per gallon
on gasoline and gasohol.
Beginning July 1, 2012, the rate shall be adjusted each year on July 1 by a percentage, as
determined by the Commissioner and rounded up to the closest one-tenth of one percent, equal to the
percentage change in the U.S. Department of Labor’s Producer Price Index for Other Nonresidential
Construction from January 1 through December 31 of the year immediately preceding the affected year.”

What was the proposed alternative financing method for highway maintenance? I hate higher taxes, but the roads do have to be fixed.

Good to see some sanity in Virgina. Here in Texas we haven’t raised our gas tax in 20 years, so it doesn’t buy us jack when it comes to highways. So instead we get private toll roads that cost 30 cents PER MILE to drive on.

Liberal scumbags Blevins, Hanger, Norment, Ruff, Stosch, Wagner and Watkins need to be targeted for defeat.
Period.
Good luck, Virginia. Bury them.
