WASHINGTON – Justice Stephen Breyer was robbed last week by a machete-wielding intruder at his vacation home in the West Indies, a Supreme Court spokeswoman said Monday.

The 73-year-old Breyer, wife Joanna and guests were confronted by the robber around 9 p.m. EST Thursday in the home Breyer owns on the Caribbean island of Nevis, spokeswoman Kathy Arberg said. The intruder took about $1,000 in cash and no one was hurt, Arberg said.

Could the old "a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged" apply. In this case, it is likely to be wishful thinking.

Sounds like a home invasion to me. Also it wasn’t in the U.S.

I wonder if the "Justice" wished he had handgun while he and his family's lives were being threatened?

I wonder if this will affect his opinions on crime?

The SCOTUS, like too many government employees, are waaaaaayyyyyyy too insulated from the life the rest of us lead.

Nevis. Interesting. St. Kitts and Nevis is one of the places that you can buy citizenship for a few hundred thousand and that includes the investment in property. If he owns a home there, I wonder if he has also purchased a second passport?

I wonder if it was a fully automatic machete or single chop?

He’s probably one of those elites that’s “in the know” and has a basic idea of the time table before TSHTF in America.

Make no mistake, 0bama and his ilk are milking every last drop out of America before it crashes,

and they intend to run off and enjoy it while the rest of us pay for the consequences of their corruption.

This is why I strongly recommend that Americans vacation and buy land in Central America, rather than in places like Aruba, Jamaica, the Bahamas, and such. The Central American countries are just as beautiful and far safer. Plus, the prices are much cheaper, and the people are warm and friendly.

“I wonder if this will affect his opinions on crime?”

Not a chance. He’s committed to liberal orthodoxy and of course Democrat voting considerations (i.e., the criminal demographic).

Never been to Nevis but St. Kitts had some of the most disagreeable people I’ve ever encountered.

News From the Future
It was announced today that in order to ensure the safety of the nations highest judges, and to ensure they stay alive and at their posts for as long as humanly possible to maintain the courts' current liberal super majority, security details have been dispatched for 24 hour protection.

Thanks to a new bill, which quickly passed through Congress and was signed into law yesterday, the costs of the security details will be paid for by additional taxation. Opponents of the bill expressed displeasure at its passing. They contend that the Act's innocent sounding name, the "Securing The Docket's Safety (STDS)" Act, should be changed to the "Every Step You Take" Act as the mere act of walking the streets of any town will be how the tax scheme will be implemented.

The taxes will begin being collected early next week as newly hired tax collectors, whose salaries will also be paid for through provisions of the same bill, take their position on every street corner in America.
