Rick selecting Sarah? No way, he is insanely envious of Sarah.
In my research, I came across Rick being quite petty and snippy about Sarah. You can go back to his comments on Sarah not speaking at the 2011 CPAC. Here are direct quotes (italics) from the wonderfully pure Rick, "I have a feeling that she has some demands on her time, and a lot of them have financial benefit attached to them," Santorum, who will be at CPAC, told conservative commentator S.E. Cupp.
Further, Santorum then noted that Palin likely had "other business opportunities," seemingly implying that the former Alaska governor's standard $100,000 speaking fees for her "prior obligations" were more important to her.
Sarah was asked to respond in early 2011. From an ABC article: Palin, who declined a chance to deliver the closing-night keynote speech at the convention, responded to Santorum in an Fox News interview Wednesday night. “I will not call him the knuckle dragging Neanderthal that perhaps others would want to call him,” Palin said of Santorum, “I’ll let his wife call him that instead" I hope Sarah doesn't forget this petty man. You can tell Rick is jealous of Sarah's incredible charisma. He tried to apologize for the statements but even then he sounded disingenuous.
I looked and I have not found any speeches, statements where he gives Sarah any credit for helping the Tea Party wins in 2010. I have yet to find him complimenting her at all -- he is just petty that someone his age is a much greater leader.
You can easily find youtubes of Rick criticizing the Tea Party back in 09. Again, because it's not about Rick, he has to criticize it.
Rick is not at all the saint he portrays himself to be. He will be utterly and rightfully slaughtered by the Marxist. Rick is too arrogant to realize he is in over his head.
