Obama's Budget Director Contradicts Obamacare Supreme Court Argument
The Weekly Standard ^ | February 5, 2012 | BY DANIEL HALPER

As the liberal website Slate has explained about Obamacare, President Obama's signature legislation "combine[s] an express mandatory insurance requirement with tax penalties . . . for noncompliance." Which is why the Obama "administration’s lawyers have cited . . . the tax . . . power in support of the mandate," and that remains a central tenet of the administration's Supreme Court case in defending Obamacare. It is not the White House is mandating care, they are telling the Supreme Court, but it's that one will be taxed if he does not get health care.

But today on Capitol Hill, acting White House budget director Jeff Zients directly undermined the administration's claim by saying that there is no tax element of Obamacare. Here's the compelling exchange: [VIDEO]

White House budget director Jeff Zients

...was just read the riot act by Obama for his foul up. Next time, he may be beheaded on the south lawn of the White Hut.

That’s cuz its a tax when you’re talking to the SCOTUS, and not a tax when you’re talking to the electorate.

Great job,
A shame they cant subpoena him to the SCOTUS Obama-care case and ask him the same question :"Is it a tax or is it not? " and see if they can get him to repeat it under oath.

Nope, sorry, not gonna fly.

If you had structured this as a big tax increase with a generous tax credit for those who buy insurance it would have been bulletproof.

Fortunately for all of us you chose to trust the Nancy Pelosi-Harry Reid Sausage Machine instead. So this is goin’ DOWN!!!

Well, this is easily resolved...

Just like anything else with leftists,
when required by the rules for it to be a tax, it’s a tax,
and in a situation where it can’t be a tax, it’s not a tax.

Got it?

This is PERFECTLY “logical” for any leftist.
They are “comfortable with contradiction”, and never see that a contradiction indicates a falsehood.

The basis of all logic is the law of non-contradiction.
And I flat out asked a lib, once, whether two things that are contradictory can both be true, and she said yes.

We're also going to try to replace some of our older servers and failing equipment this year so we're going to add a little extra to our FReepathon goals. John is estimating ten to fifteen thousand to do this and I'd like to get it all in place and working before the election cycle is fully heated up, so we'll try to bring in a little more now if we can and the rest next quarter.

an express mandatory insurance requirement with tax penalties . . . for noncompliance

...and automatic tax exemptions for anyone he says can have them.

Postmodernism:

“there is no truth”

Is that true?

The problem is, postmodernists don’t find a problem with this. They’ve been fully indoctrinated in the anti-truth worldview of the left.

It’s only “true” if it advances the agenda.

Just wonder'n, are the members of the SCOTUS sequestered once they are appointed? I mean, are they allowed to listen to oh, Rush for instance? Do they have televisions in their chambers? Otherwise I just don't know how they could not know about the duplicitous nature of the Obama administration. God help the U.S. of A.

Last year's Budget Director (now chief of staff) Lew said (LINK) "Social Security benefits are entirely self-financing"

See link to read how Lew lost that debate. "Because the intragovernmental bond is nothing more than a bookkeeping device that records how much one part of the U.S. government (Treasury) owes another part of the same government (the Social Security Administration). In judging the creditworthiness of the United States, the world doesn’t care what the left hand owes the right. It’s all one entity. It cares only what that one entity owes the world."

I don't think they are really that stupid, but their ideology forces them to lie. I'll say one thing for Obama. The quality of his budget directors is equal to the quality of his Attorney General.

When I say something, it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less.

And if I were a leftist Humpty Dumpty,
if I need it to mean something else later,
that’s exactly what it will mean then.

I know not whether to laugh or cry.

They're both true at the same time, you know.

We joke, but this is actually how the contemporary generation (who vote) have been taught to "think". It's a Luciferian agenda, nothing less.

Libtard dialectic:

Thesis; it’s a tax
Antithesis: it’s not a tax
Synthesis: it’s a combination of an express mandatory insurance requirement with tax penalties . . . for noncompliance.

Let me get this clear: the 2,300 page 0bamacare bill, like the constitution is, in the eyes of the left, a living document, a mutable missive that can mean different things at different times. Is that about it?

Gee, it's a real good thing we passed it so we could find out what's in it.
