The independents are up for grabs, but the problem right now is that the field looks incompetent.

The good news is that some of this is going back Obama when the primary is done, and that there's 9 months left. McCain actually led Bacrock at one point.

[ Republicans continue to destroy their own party; they just can’t help themselves they hate Romney so much. ]

I blamr the division on Romney who has tried to smear all the other candidates out of the race since he can’t run on his liberal record, and the GOP-E who tried to shove Romney down our throats in the first place.

I think that Romney is finding that he won a Pyrrhic victory in Florida. To people for whom character matters, the way that Romney is comporting himself is turning off voters to him.

His scorched earth strategy may have burned him the most.

I think you may be right about that ...interesting to see how both Romney and Santorum cancelling out on the Georgia debate w/Newt will affect their standing w/the base. Seems rather cowardly to me ...if they can't handle Newt when he is down in the polls w/limited funds; Obama w/his billions and the compliant media on his side should really make the nervous! Maybe they should just tell Obama they’d rather not debate him. What a couple of wimps!

...if they can't handle Newt when he is down in the polls...

Wasn't it Romney who chided Gingrich with "If you can't handle the heat, then get out of the kitchten," during a debate?

Newt should run an ad with that clip and say that it's Romney who can't handle the heat now... and it's over a debate, of all things!.
