“Stay far, far away from any and all social issues. It is the only thing that ever energizes the Democrat base and turns many independents away.”

I thought most of the Santorum support here WAS because of and including social issues. So now “staying away” is the answer? That sounds like what the purists have been fighting for all through this primary. . . . standing up for conservative principles.

Btw, anyone who thinks the media will close their eyes and ignore “social issues” in this national election is totally out of touch.

“As soon as they stray, they hand the election to the Marxist in Chief.”

STRAY? They don’t have to stray. The media will force the issue whether they “stay on your message” or not. It will be total defense for Santorum, unfortunately.

Aren’t you just a little upset that Romney and Santorum don’t have enough respect for you to complete the debate process and answer issues that might affect your state, such as Ohio?

Not even close.

Yet another debate with a leftist moderator bashing and inciting will mean nothing more than the zillion we've already had.

So basically it isn’t about you or your needs but about votes and playing the game.

Not even close. The actual campaigning is far more significant to the 'needs' of the voters than the millionth debate.

I actually think it's a reasonable choice, and understand why Santorum, Romney, and even loony Paul made it.

I can't imagine that a single Ohio voter who would be offended by the removal of one debate.

Imagine this, I am a life long Ohio republican and I am offended. There are others also who feel the same way. Neither of the duo will get my vote.

Then, you are easily offended, and if this is the reason you're not voting for Santorum, it's a pretty shallow one.

I hope you've put a bit more rational thought into the subject with actual issues in the mix, because this sounds a lot like sour grapes to me.

At any rate, I'm sure you're in the minority, because most folks aren't so sensitive to what seems to be a logical choice........not enough time or interest in being battered by yet another leftist 'journalist' in yet another in a series of endless debates.

You don’t think Ohio has been affected by the economy? I would have liked to hear the duo tell us how they can beat Obama and fix this mess. Sensitive, offended, shallow, sour grapes, irrational. You really know how to sell your message. Lol

You don’t think Ohio has been affected by the economy?

Huhh? Of course I do. I LIVE here.

But there's no reason to believe any debate led by a leftist would allow them to expound on their economic proposals. The only decent debate was the awesome one with just Cain and Gingrich, where they were actually allowed to talk.

Sorry for the offensive words I used, but I still believe that IF you are not going to vote for Santorum because he didn't want to participate in this debate, it is a shallow reason.

Sorry about that, but I do hope you have some better reasons, based on issues and not being miffed and 'offended' (your word, not mine) about this particular debate.

Ok, apology accepted. Lol, not necessary though. Of course I have better reasons to not vote for Rick Santorum. First and most importantly I really do not believe he is qualified to be president, especially at this crucial time in America. I don’t think Santorum is articulate, he rambles, repeats quite often and gets agitated. I had a real problem with him when he endorsed Spector, who I believe was a turncoat and did tremendous damage to the party and the country. I do not believe he is capable of beating Obama for more reasons than you want to hear. If he thinks he can win this election based on his social conservatism, he is wrong. I am a newt fan and believe he is a national treasure to this country at this time in history.

Well, I figured you had real reasons. :)

I don't agree with your conclusion, but I appreciate your reasoning.

Just one word about Spector. The reason for that was for the SC Justices, and we got Roberts and Alito because of Spector's pull.

I figure that they're holding the country together by a thread, along with Scalia and Thomas, so no matter how nasty Arlen was, the endorsement served its purpose, and I don't blame Rick for it.

Never did.
