His chances of beating Obama are no worse than the other three.

Yep, just the same way that Romney deals with his opponents, because he can’t run on the issues, he has to demonize and destroy. Oh and by the way, Romney really sucks.

Rick Santorum made an odd comment in North Dakota on Wednesday.

At least when Newt makes an odd comment, it's generally a half-way interesting odd comment.

Below the article, Hah Bumbug wrote:

Shortly thereafter, speaking in San Francisco, Santorum called for America to reduce its reliance on petroleum, because "If the Iranians nuke North Dakota, it will warm the atmosphere and kill polar bears." Police were called after a fight broke out in the audience, regarding whether losing a few polar bears was worth it, as long as North Dakota was nuked.

If I wanted to cause fear I would hit rural America. Imagine an area where one or two officers are on duty PER COUNTY. One call ties up all the resources.

While the DC sniper attacks were happening, I wondered if it was an al-Qaeda operation. But then I thought for a moment and concluded, nah, if it were AQ, there would be a team operating in each of the top ten population centers (and, at two terrorists per team, the head-count would have been only one more than 9/11, and the operating budget similar).

It’s funny how some are ridiculing him for assuming that terrorists might want to target an important source of energy in this nation.

I wonder how much ridicule W would have taken if he had been verbalizing the notion that terrorists might want to hi-jack a plane and deliberately fly it into a building - before - it happened on 9/11.

There were warnings of it -prior- to it happening.

Everybody’s a genius.

I’m a Santorum supporter who voted for Gingrich in my state - because - it made strategic sense to do so. That is because as a conservative - I will be happy with -either-Newt or Rick. My first duty was to do whatever I could to keep delegates away from Moot Gantry.
http://youtu.be/6ziDwbCSYPw (My Election Day declaration for Newt)

I hope that the 13% conservatives who were leaning toward Newt in Michigan will do what I did here in Florida by supporting Santorum. If they do, Romney will certainly lose Michigan.

I would also encourage voters to vote for Newt in states where he is already the clear front-runner.

IMO such a strategy seems like the best way to keep Romney from getting the nomination.

Knowing that his sleaze machine has been sufficiently exposed and knowing that voters are rejecting his underhanded tactics, I suspect that Romney and his machine will try to promote Newt in Michigan. Newt would be Moot’s new best friends there.

Why? Because Gantry cannot go HIGHER in the polls than his low 30% points. BUT - if he can get a few of Santorum’s voters to jump to Newt - he could win a state by literally PROMITING Newt in Michigan.

This guy is a snake-oil salesman - but he’s no moron. He WILL figure this out. You watch. Mitt’s PACS will be running pro-Newt commercials (or anti-Santorum commercials made to look like they are FROM the NEWT PACS) in Michigan while fully KNOWING that it WILL NOT be Mitt’s voters who would defect to Newt - but rather a few Santorum voters (all he needs is a few percent).

This all seems extraordinarily slimy - but this is cult 101. It’s like the way the Mormon church runs these appealing ads featuring touchy feely family messages talking about “the Bible” and how they will send you a free bible (while their founder Joseph Smith based the entire religion on the notion that the Bible is erroneous and their Book of Mormon is the truth).

Get ready to witness the cunning craftiness of Lucifer.

The perpetrators are Sunni muslims in about all the terrorist attacks since 9/11. Yet we always talk of iranian terrorism, and are closest buddies with pakistan and saudi arabia, the main sponsors of terrorism from sunni muslims.
My problem with iran is their nuclear program and not the threat of terrorism. I dont understand how you can relate iran and Al qaeda, you probably couldnt find two more mortal enemies than sunni and shiite muslims.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one hears it.........................?

Like the passing and signing of the NDAA removing habeas corpus for American citizens, you mean?

I keep bringing that up because it's more important than anything else being discussed on FR. It's more important because it endangers anyone who speaks up about anything.

So far, only the ACLU and Ron Paul have noticed. The media are worse than irrelevant. They are dangerous too.

What is discouraging is the apparent lack of critical reading skills from posters on FR these days.

“No one is safe. No one is safe from asymmetric threats of terrorism.”

Not untrue in the least.

Santorum pointed to Iran as the source behind future terrorist attacks, ramping up his rhetoric on a country he frequently discusses on the campaign trail.

Again, not untrue in the least despite CNN trying to portray Santorum as a rhetoric-spewing extremist against poor, old little harmless Iran.

“That’s what Iran will be all about unless we stop them from getting that nuclear weapon,” Santorum said.

Nothing untrue about this either.

Rick Santorum warned a quiet North Dakota audience Wednesday that their state’s booming oil industry positioned the region as a prime target for terrorism.

Over to top?? Maybe, or maybe not. If the first three statements are accepted as true, who is to say that important infrastructure in N. Dakota is immune from a terror attack?

CNN is part of the regime's media and FReepers who post here used to be able to discern a deceptive headline. As for NRO they have in the Romney camp for months.

I didn’t say a word about AQ. Hezbollah is the largest terrorist organization on planet earth and they’re a wholly owned subsidiary of Iran.

And save the “Sunnis and Shiah will never work together” canard for someone who was born yesterday. I had my fill of that nonsensical, demonstrably false line of BS back in 2006.

While I think North Dakota is not a major target for terrorists, many of these rural states have major national infrastructure components in isolated areas that could easily be targets. For example, the Missouri River dams produce a significant amount of the electric power for the Midwest. Coordinated attacks on major electrical substations located in the middle of nowhere could cause a major failure of the power grid. Remember the Northeast blackouts in 2003 were caused by the single power surge that caused a domino effect of failures to the entire the grid. Imagine the effect of coordinated attacks on numerous major power stations.

It’s bizarre, not bazaar, lol!

As a New Yorker, I laughed when the silly, stupid terrorists tried to blow up the WTC and then demanded a receipt for the rental car they used in that sloppy act. Then 2001 happened and I didn’t laugh quite so hard...
