Obama Winning His War on Coal
The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register ^ | February 12th, 2012 | Staff

Posted on 02/17/2012 5:56:54 AM PST by Jacquerie

Time may already have run out for Americans to defeat President Barack Obama in his war against the coal industry. Many utility companies already have run up the white flag.

Before millions of people even knew about the war on coal, decisions were made that will send their utility bills skyrocketing. Some of those choices are irreversible.

A few weeks ago it was revealed at least 32 coal-fired power plants in 12 states, including West Virginia and Ohio, would be closed so utility companies could comply with the Obama administration's air pollution regulations. On the list was the Kammer Plant near Moundsville.

Last week FirstEnergy announced it would close three West Virginia power plants later this year, along with six in Ohio, Pennsylvania and Maryland, for the same reason.

"One man rule is here. We, as a nation let it happen."

As utility bills (already ridiculous) skyrocket, and rolling blackouts hit this summer, 0's involvement needs to be shouted from the rooftops.

This single issue could lose him the election. Especially when coupled with the Keystone Pipeline, it is devastating.

0, the anti-energy, anti-capitalism, anti-American "President".

THE WORST EVER.

Who knew that U.S. citizens are as cowardly as the French were in giving up their country to a foreign dictator.

Yep...and our Republican leaders in congress are silent as church mice.

And yet...we want MORE of this type of leadership?

Next up, a shortage of electricity in a nation that sits on the biggest energy reserve in the world.

This is completely unbelievable. But, don't worry. Ontario is building two new nuclear power plants. If the enviros allow the high voltage lines to be strung across the border, we can sell you some power.

A good friend is a UMWA shop steward and the suicidal lock-step voting will continue in the vain belief that Obama is a Democrat and therefore supports the workin’ man.

Those who voted for the obamanation and his evil democrat regime are the worst, though the rinos of DC who are in cahoots with the godless democrat regime are guilty by association. And there are many liberal democrat rinos as Romney himself is proof and as the Bush Presidents and congress critters are proof of. I remember how before the 2008 election I talked to a democrat who believed the coal industry would increase under the democrats and warned him of Obamas anti energy schemes and statements and he mocked.Bet he isn’t so proud now.
It may come to secession of states from the democrat communist run DC as a last step to save America from the bloodbath of communism the obamanation regime is brining in.
And we need to humble ourselves and pray to almighty God the Father in Jesus name and He will hear from heaven and if his will be so, He can heal us. He only can heal us.

Massey will get what it wants from a Republican administration.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of mountain top removal. More truck drivers than coal miners involved in that. And it's ugly.

I’m guessing tha China has plenty of steam coal. Mid-vol metallurgical coal OTOH is an export commodity and we’re sending a lot, if not most, of it overseas now. Look at the coal docks in Norfolk and the ships laying at anchor off of Cape Henry waiting to load.

I sense that the UMW isn’t as heavy in met coal production. Met coal lives in tight little seams that are hard to get at since the big, easy seams have been pretty much mined out (Pittsburgh, Kittanning, etc.). These are little, non-union mines that I have seen in the met coal.

But someone in the industry can correct me if I’m mistaken.

The problem is the kind of voters we have. They can’t tell you one small fraction about the candidate they vote for, that they did not get from the MSM or overhear at their morning coffee break. And they certainly could not tell you how government works, or even who is currently running it.

They helped elect him knowing what he was about so now they can deal with it. No sympathy here.

Considering Santorum’s connection with miners and other blue-collar people, this may work to the GOP’s benefit.

Obeyme has said - they don’t need wages, we can give them unemployment. It’s better for the economy than actual work!

Truly colossal economic ignorance. Words actually fail.
