St. Louis, MO - A few days ago, Police Officer Cheryl Goede responded to a call about a "suspicious vehicle".
When Goede arrived, she found a man sitting in a vehicle along with his two, adult German shepherds.
It took some prodding, but Officer Goede eventually found out the true reason behind that the man was in the car with the two, large dogs.
Not long ago, the man lost his job.
After losing his job, he lost his home.
With nowhere to go, and nowhere for his companion dogs, the man took up "residence" in his vehicle - sadly, the place they had called home for over a month.
The man grudgingly admitted his embarrassment over the situation.
Little did he know that the woman he was speaking with is much more than an officer of the law.

“OH NOEZ JACKBOOTZ!!!!!!!!!”
In this case, “JaneBootz” would be more accurate.
PS “Jane” is very pro dog.

A guy down on his luck, hung on to his two German Shepherds and didn't ditch them in a shelter. I think he deserves the small contribution to him I made.

Those dogs can also help him keep warm on cold nights...:O) Good for him, I don’t see how anyone could give up their dogs, if I eat, so will my dog...

All cops should have at least 6 months of canine experience. It might also be a good way to weed out the jackasses.

Same here. And I wish I could do more.
That gentleman and his 2 dogs are of more worth than the entire Occupy crowd put together.

Unfortunately in the Obama economy, the German Shepherd rescue I volunteer for have many stories of people who lost their jobs and homes and were living in their cars rather give up their German Shepherds.
Mr. Hawk deserves a big thumbs up for not giving up his dogs.
Just as the economy is turning around!(/back to sanity)

Don’t have much to spare myself, but gave what I could.
God Bless, protect and help them.

We know those people are out there on the beat and that they likely outnumber the stinkers, not that this means the stinkers should be tolerated, but still. But they usually don’t brag.

Except for three dog nights, in which case he's short one dog.

Yep, your right on with that....a 3 dog night is a beachen cold night.....:O)
Thanks for the good story.

I don’t see how anyone can give up their dog unless their circumstances are so dire the dog would be better off with someone else.. I’m glad this man has a better chance of providing for his dogs now.
