I know all about the “high priest” scare. There has been a chain of e-mails about it going back as long as the deadly toilet seat spider scare, or the AIDS needle on the theater seat. And still too many gullible people that fall for for them all. Mitt being classified as a high priest may be true, but it does not deserve the panic it is getting.

This from a researcher on the issue:

“Pretty much any active male over the age of 50 can be a High Priest,” said Scott Gordon, president of the Foundation for Apologetic Information & Research. It's extremely common.
‘High Priest’ sounds strange to people outside the Mormon Church,” “But in fact it's a very common office. There are easily 100,000 or maybe more High Priests in the church.
Mormon congregations in every city in the country typically have several High Priests”.

I'm not a Mormon, but the position pretty much sounds like an “Elder”, like in our churches. Can we please get back to the issues that make Mitt the least desirable candidate?

Romney is the uber-Mormon. It matters greatly...much more that his RINO-ness.

Read this article posted on FR and see if you don't agree...

Pretty much felt like you did until a friend of our family who had been Mormon went off on a rant that I didn’t understand. Started looking for answers to why she felt so strongly.

Found Tricia Erickson’s CAN MITT ROMNEY SERVE TWO MASTERS? You can read the first two chapter for free at Amazon.(she was raised in the faith and her family are still practicing it)

Now I understand and share both our friend’s fear and why she would NEVER vote for the man.

Do yourself a favor and read the two chapters and then you’ll understand why people are SO emotional about Romney’s faith.

(MSM went on great detail about Powell using the axe on his two small sons, how horrible it was, but neglected to mention it was an act of his Mormon religion)

In most cases

I'm not a Mormon, but...

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard this in these threads...

You do know that when Joey Smith petitioned congress around about 1840 for permission to have his own private US government paid for army with him as LT General he wanted 100,000 soldiers dont you ???

At the time the US army only had 8,000 soldiers

while Joey already had at least 5,000 Danites in his
own army...

He was planning to use just blood aoth sworn Mormons in his larger army...

However the US government said No he couldnt have an army that large within the US border and the American taxpayers were not going to pay for any private army...

Oh the Mormons had lots to hate the US for...
