From Gleick's Huffington Post confession:

Given the potential impact however, I attempted to confirm the accuracy of the information in this document. In an effort to do so, and in a serious lapse of my own and professional judgment and ethics, I solicited and received additional materials directly from the Heartland Institute under someone else's name. The materials the Heartland Institute sent to me confirmed many of the facts in the original document, including especially their 2012 fundraising strategy and budget. I forwarded, anonymously, the documents I had received to a set of journalists and experts working on climate issues.

That was really great. Enjoyed that immensely. Thanx, palmer. I had the pleasure of meeting McKitrick a couple of years ago as he and Stephen McIntyre gave a media presentation at the Dirksen Senate Office Buildin. I specifically thanked McKitrick for his defense of scientific integrity. Nice guy.

The thief was recently named to a scientific ethics committee.

Glad to help and thanks for all your pings. Seems to me that Steve McIntyre and Ross are basically ordinary nice guys who have been dragged into this by merely standing up for scientific integrity.

Yeah. I noticed that. Was going to comment then decided to be extremely cute and clever and prophecies that the house built upon cinders would fall. It is nice to see how this whole scheme is slowly being exposed in so many quarters. Meanwhile Europe and Asia try to recover from yet another horribly cold and snowy winter. At last the folks in the upper provinces of Canada and Alaska are no longer in threat of those minus 65F temps.. At least I hope so for their sake.Old man winter taint going away as quickly as many would hope for.
