A man in Berkeley was beaten to death while confronting a protester. And according to reports, police were too busy dealing with Occupy protesters to respond.
The San Francisco Chronicle has the story explaining how an unidentified victim savagely beaten by a trespasser suspected to be a mentally ill 23-year-old named Daniel Jordan Dewitt attempted to call the police regarding his assailant. The call was ignored because Berkeley police were too busy dealing with Occupy Oakland protesters:
The victim had called police on a nonemergency line after first seeing Dewitt, according to sources familiar with the case. But police were busy monitoring an Occupy Oakland march to UC Berkeley, and officers were dispatched only to high-priority calls.

1.) He called the "non-emergency" line in an emergency;
2.) He apparently ignored his 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, perhaps because he believed "guns are bad" and only bad people own a gun. Too bad for him that he didn't realize a flower pot can be deadly, too.
Remember FReepers: "The police are minutes away when seconds count."
I don’t think #2 applies here being as this happened in Berkeley, Kalifornia. They probably tried to put a flower in that pot first.
“Just let the peace flow through you... man.”
“The property where the attack occurred is on Park Gate near Shasta Road and Grizzly Peak Boulevard. The two-story, 6,500-square-foot house sits behind stone walls and up a driveway of roughly 40 yards.”
Do you think the perp was a Greenie?

That’s a nice neighborhood. I used to live in Kensington, which is near that area.
Tueller drill: Man gets within 21 feet of you with a flower pot - shoot!
Maybe.
What I find interesting is the following quote from the victim’s neighbor:
“It’s unsettling,” said Pat Gahan, 44. “We feel so insulated up here. You really have to make an effort to get up here.”
That is the typical mentality of wealthy liberals. They believe that they are special, and therefore more important than the rest of us. They assume that because they have superficially insulated themselves with big stone walls and security gates they will always be safe until the cops arrive.
Am willing to bet money that more than a few of the victim’s neighbors are out getting gun permits today.
