A new report from the Council of Europe’s Anti-Racism Commission (ECRI) says that Iceland should be doing more to combat discrimination, in part by granting permission for Muslims to build a mosque and by filling in gaps in current immigration legislation.

I had a friend spend one year without being allowed off base. This applied to all minorities at the time. The reason was since Iceland had such a small population they were trying to kept their race and heritage intact.
The Brits left a lot of babies there after WW2. I think they have relaxed the curfew restrictions now.

From what little I know about Iceland, it now has a huge tourism trade and nightclub scene focusing on European vacationers. I know several American college students who went there and believed it was a colder version of a Florida spring break scene, with hot springs for swimming rather than beaches and oceans. I have no idea what the country looks like in actual life outside the tourist areas, but what you describe is nothing like the way they operate today.
I guess they just don’t want to be like mother Denmark. If my neighbors demanded that I take in boarders in my house of a different race or religion or what ever why would I be obligated to do so? Would they help me pay my mortgage? I think Saudi Arabia should allow Christians to migrate there and build a cathedral. Isn’t that the same thing? Isn’t Saudi Arabia racist too?
What is wrong with any people wanting to preserve their own cultural heritage in the land of their fathers? The answer is absolutely nothing. On the other hand there is a full ocean of negative consequences for deliberately sabotaging your own heritage. (And check out: Pursuit Of "Diversity," Return To Babel?.)

Somewhat inaccurate headline - this is the Council of Europe, not the EU. The two are very different. The Council of Europe has far more member countries, of which Iceland is one.
I was in Korea twice and there was more to do there. The first time only Osan had a curfew but I was there in ‘08 and everyone had the curfew.
Not the Muslims. They don't have to worry about it there.
