It looks like they’re closing our local Sears out here in Iowa. It was a small store, but it was useful for appliances. Drat. It used to be that every decent-sized town had a Sears.
Oh, our newest and closest mall was completed a few years ago, and hasn’t even opened yet. It is next to the new Giants Stadium in the NJ Meadowlands (called Xanadu); it has this huge indoor ski slope and all. They’ve been talking for a while now about what to do with the site; I guess it was just pork for the trade unions.
