No wonder many conservatives are disappointed, very confused and about to leave the primary process when they see persons we admire continue to throw out so much bull-crap for us to deal with. Who are they trying to convince. Rick is another Washington insider; big program spender. Like I said, Rush is saving his family values base (nothing more). He already said he would accept Romney, the socialized heath care liberal. yes, it's confusing though understandable why people cannot unite towards one conservative candidate. Some of the Rushbots do what he says to do; the independent thinkers are seeing it through reality and don't want to be forced with Mitt or Rick.
But its not just Rush (”Santorum is the last standing true conservative”) and Mark Levin who back Santorum, so do the Republican primary voters, and the general electorate, as well as leading conservative publications like Townhall; The American Spectator, The Weekly Standard, and National Review, who have demanded Gingrich to immediately withdraw this futile will-o-the-wisp quest and stop enabling a Romney win. You folks need to wake up to reality. This is now a 2-man race. No one’s talking Gingrich anymore. Stuff like permanent moon-based colonies during a $1.6T national debt and $1.3T deficit, some 9% unemployment, pie-in-the-sky $2.50 gasoline, and some 6000 earmarks, mocking Reagan in private, just ain’t going to cut it and the voters are expressing their preferences with their feet, especially women voters.
Earlier tonight, I spoke to the wife of someone who is probably in the top 10 of the party establishment. She agrees they all stink and has doubts about Romney’s core. If she had to choose, it would be Newt but worries about his unpredictability. I agree. My take in a nutshell:
Romney - total fake conservative who will say anything to be elected. His excuse in the past was he had to cave because of the Dem legislature. What if he gets pressure from the national Dems and MSM? Answer: the same thing.
Santorum - Holier than thou socon who will force gvt to do things it shouldn’t do or pay for.
Paul - Sham
Newt - Lots of samsonite but the only one who actually did anything conservative, knows how DC works and IF held to his pledges, which actually make sense, (yes the moonbase, too) may actually turn out to be a good president.
