About 1,000 shoppers that gathered for a shoe release at an Orlando mall late Thursday became out of control, prompting deputies in riot gear to disperse the crowd.
The Orange County Sheriff's Office said 200 deputies went to the Florida Mall about 9:45 p.m. because of the crowd, which became unruly after Foot Locker canceled the release of the limited-edition Nike Air Foamposite One "Galaxy" shoes. The $220 purple and blue sneakers are made from an extra-durable material and glow in the dark.

For some reason the video looks very edited.. lots of cropping and very little full shots of the crowd. They must have searched for hours to find the white guy..

It also makes it easy for perps to find victims at night. There is already a problem with violent, sneaker robberies. These glowing shoes will be like a beacon, calling out “Mug me!” to the thugs.

We went to the Florida Mall about a month ago because my son wanted to check out the H & M store. I have never felt like such a foreigner in my own Country. I highly recommend people stay away from the place and if you're a tourist, stay away from that side of Orlando.

Yeah, I didn't think they would shrink so much being stored away like that.

I also grew up poor but was taught to be independent. I have not bought a new pair of shoes in 7 years. I rotate between the three pair I have and have never paid more than $70 for a good pair of shoes for work. My 7 year old athletic shoes were $40 on sale.
I drive a 1999 Ford mostly to work and back and it has 62500 actual miles on it and I bought that used when it 2as 6 mos. old. If you use good sense and take care of your stuff it will last and you might have some money left to buy other things that make your life better.
$200 for a pair of Nike shoes? What a bunch of crap.

What’s this “mall” you speak of?
To: SoFloFreeper
Democratic voters, but then again we have a class of conservatives whose job it is is to never ever mention that fact.
