Sex-selective Abortions and the Anti-choice People Who Oppose Them

It seems that all abortion is equal.

But some varieties are more equal than others.

In Britain, where even Iron Lady Margaret Thatcher was iron-hearted enough to vote for abortion, authorities have found a type of abortion they will not abide: that based on sex.

While such abortions have long been illegal in the U.K., an undercover investigation by the Daily Telegraph found abortionists willing to perform them at three of nine abortion mills investigated. Writes the paper, “Doctors at British clinics have been secretly filmed agreeing to terminate foetuses purely because they are either male or female. Clinicians admitted they were prepared to falsify paperwork to arrange the abortions even though it is illegal to conduct such ‘sex-selection’ procedures.”

The paper cites two examples — more information will be released tomorrow — one involving a woman who didn’t want her girl for “social reasons” and another who wanted to kill her unborn boy because she “already had a son.”

In response to these revelations, Health Secretary Andrew Lansley said, “I’m extremely concerned to hear about these allegations. Sex selection is illegal and is morally wrong.” My, what moral clarity.

What judgmentalism.

What inflexibility.

What?

Let me get this straight. Lansley and others have no problem with murdering unborn children; when you murder them for the wrong reason, however, that’s when their moral compass kicks in.

As genetics improves, folks will kill gay-tending babies, liberal-tending babies, athiest-tending babies.....

scratch that - religious-tending babies, moral-tending babies.

Actually, this gender-selection is more amazing than you think: these women have no problem raising a child of the right gender, but would have also had no problem killing that same child had the gender been different. Can you imagine that!

Raising that child and wondering....maybe I should have killed this one and opted for the next boy instead?

Do you get a mom like that a Mother’s Day gift?

Hey honey, let’s not kill it - I found out it’s a boy just like you wanted? Wellllll, alright then.

Sick. Prayer and fasting for these people.

Horrifying. Joining you in prayer, and wishing you a joyous Easter.

I have been prayerfully posting my pro-life stance on a forum today. You simply cannot believe what the last two posts on the thread were.

One woman complained that her mother never wanted her and kept her only because of her "religion." But that growing up in that circumstance was horrible.

This is in answer to that post.

I'm sorry you had to endure what you did. It is awful that these things happen. That's why I think sometimes, an abortion can be the ultimate act of love for that unborn being. Why bring forth another being into a situation full of suffering?

Did the second poster just wish the first poster had been aborted? Please, these people just shock me!!

On the DVD version of Gattacca, that was actually one of the deleted scenes where the mother says to the doctor, "Well,... we hoping to have grandchildren." "No problem, already taken care of."

What if that poster had, instead, wished the woman's mother could have killed her right after birth, so as to preserve her mother's ability to have future children (since abortion can render a woman unable to carry a pregnancy to term, or even unable to get pregnant)?

I guess part of the reason the left loves abortion so much is that they have an utter lack of empathy--they are unable to put themselves in the place of the "unwanted" child, and only think of their personal convenience.
