When was the last time anyone heard of a father entering a maternity ward, removing a newborn from its bassinet....and attempting to take it out into the elements, shoving and pushing the medical personnel all the while.
The nurse's natural instinct was to reach out to protect that tiny infant against what to her was the unknown....weird and reckless behavior on the part of a man who for all she knew could have been drunk....or even in the throes of some kind of domestic fight or retaliation situation.
There's more going on here than meets the eye. Seeing that it involves a Kennedy, it can't be anything good.
Poor bebeh.

He has not figured out that “smart” people of socialist institutions own his child yet. Uncle Teddy would be so proud...of the nurses.
The doctor is siding with him against the hospital staff. Lawyers galore.
How many drinks did he have before he went to the hospital?
Entitlement + Inebriation = Really Really Dumb S**t
It is February here in NY, did he even attempt to dress the child appropriately? Or did he just walk in in a typical drunken Kennedy stupor and do whatever he wanted?
For those of you defending his “right to his child”, if he’s shaking an infants neck and kicking nurses and falling down with a new born and then attempts to run away, he shouldn’t be taking that child anywhere, somethings wrong with him.
The Kennedys do suck, but how can anyone here believe that the hospital staff have the right to tell a father he can’t have his own baby? I would do more than just kick a nurse who tried to do that to me, and he/she would deserve it. For God’s sake, is everyone in this country ready to surrender themselves to their slave masters so easily?
Im with the Kennedy guy on this. The hospital doesn’t own that kid. Give their best advice,, and if he ignores it based on better advice, (say from a doctor),, document it in the chart.
Nurses went beyond their role.
a dem getting persnickety over big govt telling him what’s best for the health and welfare of his family?
oh the irony...
Drunk
This reads like he was loaded.
Just in case anyone was wondering, I checked, and on Jan 7 (the day of this incident) in nearby Chappaqua, NY, the high and low temps were 59/35.
If they had a proper maternity unit they’d have hit the lockdown button and nobody would have left.
She needs to sue him personally.
It’s not the hospital’s kid. Just have him sign a waiver he’s rejecting the hospital’s advice/treatment, and let him walk outside. He was with a family doctor. He sounds like an ass but being an ass isn’t necessarily against the law. He may not be able to help it being a Kennedy.
From what we are able to see and read...I side with Kennedy on this.
“Lane blocked the doorway, “placing both hands on the doorknob” to prevent Kennedy from leaving, police said.”
Well, it sounds to me like Mr. Kennedy has a nice fat countersuit on his hands for a couple counts of kidnapping and unlawful imprisonment.
Not in the slightest.
I stand behind the Kennedy involved and support him. I too have dealt with aggressive nurses. Kennedy did nothing wrong.
A few years ago, a woman wearing scrubs walked into a Salt Lake City, Utah, hospital, took a baby from a bassinet, and simply walked out of the hospital with the baby. Thankfully the woman was a little bit mentally ill, and was quickly found carrying the baby in a near by supermarket.
I know that when I have gone to visit my daughters after having their babies, getting in and out of the maternity department was like breaking into and out of Ft Knox.
As for this story....Well...There just isn't enough information. I would think that if they had chosen this hospital, then both Kennedys ( mom and dad) would have know well beforehand what the procedures would be for protecting their infant from kidnapping. Taking an infant out for stroll outside wouldn't be one of their safety precautions.
Perhaps the hospital was going to run a drug test on the baby.....
Did they give him a breathalizer test?
