Lieberman to Iran: Negotiate or expect strike
Greenwich Time ^ | February 25, 2012

Sen. Joe Lieberman is leading a congressional move to push U.S. policy toward a more belligerent stance against Iran by urging President Obama to take action to "prevent the Iranian government from acquiring a nuclear weapons capability."

The key policy change would shift the U.S. objective from preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons to that of preventing Iran from having the "capability" to make the weapons.

The resolution is sponsored by Lieberman, Sens. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., and Bob Casey, D-Pa., and signed onto by Sen. Richard Blumenthal, D-Conn., and 28 other senators.

Of course it will be an “accident” once again proving that “stupid is as stupid does!”

I agree Vern. I have no doubt that Obama would shoot down Israeli jets and on purpose prevent their reaching Iran.

Obama stands between Israel and Iran with the capacity to track and intercept an Israeli attack.

Who do I trust?

It is NOT Obama who has has attacked Israel in every other way possible.

“Liebermann needs to press a resolution refusing any shoot down order directed at Israeli planes by our Persian Gulf task force. (I believe we have a carrier group in the Gulf or nearby.)”

;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;

We had a carrier group in the Med on June 8, 1967 and the coward LBJ, McNamara, Rusk made sure it stood down too, when it damn well should have been defending and shooting down the attackers on our own USN ship the USS Liberty. The inaction remains a slap in the face to every USN seaman and to the memory of those 34 KIA and 170 wounded.

As a vet from 1967 I think about this crap every time our gutless leaders involve our US military in the ME. Will they defend our servicemen or does it all depend?

If it was up to me we’d stay out of that entire God forsaken area and let the residents there duke it out, and not one US serviceman would ever die for another country’s cause.
