Joint Statement by the Delegations Assigned to Probe Bagram Incident

Saturday, 25 February 2012 09:02

In the Name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate

Following the insulting and shameful act of burning Quran in Bagram airbase that injured the religious sentiments of the Islamic world and particularly of the Afghan Muslim nation, two delegations comprising of representatives from government, the National Council of Ulemma and the National Assembly were assigned and dispatched to investigate the circumstances and causes that have led to the inhumane incident.

The delegations, while deeply touched by the religious sentiments shown by the Afghan Muslim and Mujahid nation, inform our citizens of the following:

1. In view of the particular security situation in the country, we call on all our Muslim citizens of Afghanistan to exercise self-restraint and extra vigilance in dealing with the issue and avoid resorting to protests and demonstrations that may provide ground for the enemy to take advantage of the situation.

2. After the shameful incident by the US soldiers stationed in Bagram, senior NATO and American officials expressed their deep apologies to the Muslim nation of Afghanistan and assured that such incidents will not happen again.

3. NATO officials promised to meet Afghan nation’s demand of bringing to justice, through an open trial, those responsible for the incident and it was agreed that the perpetrators of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible.

4. The assigned delegations demand from the government of Afghanistan to take over from the Americans the authority of the Bagram prison so no such incidents can recur and calls on the US government to fully and comprehensively cooperate to this end.

5. The delegations also want from the Afghan government to formally praise those brave Afghan army soldiers and all others who showed feelings against the disrespectful act by preventing more religious books and Quran copies from burning, so that the pure Muslim sentiments of our honored Mujahid nation can remain alive.

The Koran burners need claim they thought they were burning Christian Bibles. And thus they would be acquitted and praised by all Parties.

If Christianity was the religion of hate and violence that Islam is, it would not get so routinely spat upon abroad and at home.

we need to take care of america and let the rest of the world go hang

i for one would be willing to pay more for manufactured giids to leave the chinese in the cold too

besides the fact that we need our own factories our own people at work

drill for our own oil and in alaska too

and frankly, if it were up to me, i’d declare islam altogether a clear and present danger to our country and every muslim here gets a one way plane ticket to the muslim theocracy of their choice

every illegal alien haul on a bus across the border unless they want to join the armed forces and earn their citizenship

let the world live in chaos, strengthen and protect our country, and if they bring it to us, we give it back full force nothing off the table

do we have the national will to save ourselves

The violation of some other obscure order or instruction. And there’s always the standard violation of “order and discipline”.

If ever Obama voters were to feel any degree of shame for what they have brought upon our Republic; now’s the time...

IIRC, the reason we “had” to leave Iraq is because we would not allow our personnel to be prosecuted for any alleged crimes.

But they won't be prosecuted for a violation of our laws, they will be prosecuted for a violation of their sharia laws, which is punishable by death.

Thanks, xzins. I just don’t see it happening, if for no other reason than this is an election year. obama does not want any trial.

I agree with you. This has become a high profile campaign issue, so Obama will back off.

My understanding of our status of forces agreement in Afghan is that US troops cannot be tried by other than the US system. One of our reasons for early departure from Iraq was the inability to renew the status of forces agreement without making our troops liable to Iraq’s laws.

Find this one hard to believe, even under ObaCommie..

It's maddening.. How do we fight this kind of insanity? Justified outrage doesn't seem to have the some clout as Radical Islamic Terrorists outrage.

God Bless our Troops! Thank you for all you do to keep us Free!

Well, I’m giving FR warning right now...If any US military personnel go to trial for this, I’m driving to DC and burning a Quran right in front of the WH.

Personally, I think Islam needs to be culled.

Burn a Koran - slaughter the rioters.
Piss on dead jihadis - slaughter the rioters.
Publish a Mohammad cartoon - slaughter the rioters.
Repeat.

Eventually you get Moslems smart enough to show a little restraint and who understand “peaceable assembly.” Or, in a best case scenario, you run out of Moslems.

This story sounds kinda fishy to me. Everyone is briefed when they get in-country about customs and courtesies of the host country. The bases would have shredders used for classified materials. These shredders will mangle anything placed in them so you would not be able to tell what it was. If prisoners were using korans to send messages that would be a simple fix just to shred them. You could then burn the sawdust basically.

Even the unclassified shredders do a pretty good job of mangling paper.
