Mitchell: Obama Could Be Blamed For Afghanistan, Gas Prices Though He Has 'So Little Control'
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 02/27/2012 6:15:02 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

It must be reassuring to President Obama to know that minions like Andrea Mitchell have his back.

On Morning Joe today, "correspondent" Mitchell fretted that President Obama might be facing electoral challenges for rising gasoline prices and Afghanistan, despite the fact that these are "global events" over which Obama has "so little control." So unfair. I mean, Obama only being President and Commander-in-Chief of the United States.

When your assumption is that government owns everything,
anything the government doesn’t take from an entity
is something that the government has “given” the entity.

The Muslim said flat out that prices would skyrocket.

He is totally responsible and totally competent. He is getting exactly what he called for.

He has been working at it all along and his work is bearing fruit.

The media wants us to believe it’s all about the Middle East turmoil, but it’s not, the largest component in the commodity price increases is the devalued dollar due to the print-and-borrow mentality of our current government.

Why is gold so high? Why is every commodity higher than it should be? It’s certainly not the threat of oil supply disruption, is it?

Yes. I wish some person with a media megaphone would quote him on this repeatedly. I don’t know why they’re not. Out of his own mouth...

Boo-Hoo-Hoo,
Andrea Mitchell is one of the ‘The economy is moving in the right direction’ crowd that has been glowing over Obama’s recent approval ratings. Why are Reid and Schumer and Kerry not on all the Sunday shows calling Afghanistan a failure and demanding immediate withdrawal?? as they were in 2007 with Iraq?

Let me spell it out for you in MSMSpeak:

Moving in the 'right' direction = Obama’s doing
8% unemployment= Obama’s doing
GM making a ‘profit’ = Obama’s doing (forget that 23B$, the rich can pay that back)
Capturing Bin laden, Mission Accomplished= Obama’s doing

1.5 T$ deficit = The rich and Republicans fault, just 'tax the rich'.
High gas prices =Chinese and Republicans fault, tax the oil companies
Any slowing of the economy, ie moving in the 'wrong' direction = Europe and Republicans fault, tax the rich
Endless costly War with no hope in sight=Bush's fault, how do we blame this on 'the rich'?

Look, Obama has lots of great ideas for fixing these things(all involve raising taxes on 'the rich'), they may take a little time to work, but those mean Republicans are blocking them all to protect those 'millionaire and billionaires', Obam just needs a chance, he tried tax cuts and drilling and proved it didnt work. ‘ Four More Years! Give obama's ideas a try!

RE :”MORE than enough ammo for impeachment

You mean by the congress that pretty much caved to Obama on every spending and debt limit bill? How's that repeal of Obama-care coming? Maybe they could start with that.

If the suck-up press can't find a Republican to blame, they'll say it's "no one's fault".

What's amazing to me is journalists wonder why they're being laid off in droves - why fewer people are reading newspapers, why 'news' viewership is down, and why fewer people believe what they say anyhow...

I suspect it's not the Internet - it's their bias and lack of trustworthiness...

Andrea Mitchell will be the first of the suck-ups to give credit to Obama if gas prices go down.

Here's how it works with journalism's 'teacher's pets': If gasoline doubles in price - it's 'beyond the control' of the President ( if he's a dem). If the price of gasoline goes up and a Republican is President it's the fault of greedy Texas Republicans, friends of Dick Cheney or Haliburton. If kids can't read and all their teachers are liberal democrat union members, the 'problem' is they need more money. Democrats are NEVER AT FAULT. Don't believe me? Ask a journalist.

There's thousands of examples - but they all come down to this: democrats are given an excuse - no matter how lame - and all journalists believe it. Republicans are held to the highest level of accountability - and are never offered an excuse.

I wish some enlightened academic would do a mock up of the average liberal paper and switch the bias - then ask the editors if they would subscribe to such a paper.

I’m sure Mitchell was giving Bush a pass too by saying he had very little control over Afganistan and Iraq too, right?
