Nadia Lockyer saga gets uglier
Oakland Tribune ^ | 2/27/12 | Tammerlin Drummond

When Nadia Lockyer ran for a seat on the Alameda County Board of Supervisors in November of 2010, she looked about 120 pounds. But as 2011 wore on she grew increasingly gaunt.

People questioned whether she had an eating disorder or addiction. Alameda County District Attorney Nancy O'Malley, a former colleague and political ally, said she was concerned about Lockyer's health. She also got text messages from Lockyer suggesting that she was "in a downward spiral -- in crisis."

Now after Lockyer's shocking 911 report to police that she had been beaten by her ex-lover in a Newark motel room, there are now sorted allegations that she made a sex tape with the man.

On Monday morning, a video purporting to be Lockyer engaged in a sex act, was posted on YouTube, but was soon removed.

On Feb. 3, Lockyer's world came crashing down around her in a Newark motel. At 2:40 a.m., she called 911 to report that she had been attacked by an allegedly "ex-boyfriend," causing head and neck injuries that required medical treatment. She had her 8-year-old son with her. Lockyer is married to Bill Lockyer, who has been a major player in California politics for four decades.

The Lockyers went into damage control mode. Lockyer, 40, issued a statement saying that she had entered rehab. Her 70-year-old husband claimed -- incredulously -- that his wife had gone to the motel to comfort an ex-boyfriend who was suicidal and had a long criminal record. "... Her only fault is having one too many drinks," he said.

Stephen Chikhani, a 35-year-old San Jose man who has been arrested numerous times for alleged methamphetamine use, told the Bay Area News Group that the couple had lied about what happened between he and Nadia Lockyer at the motel.

Nearly a month after the alleged attack, he has not been charged with a crime. It was only a matter of time before the other shoes started dropping.

On Sunday, the San Francisco Chronicle reported that Nadia Lockyer and the man had made a sex tape.

According to the news report, Lockyer feared that the man might make the alleged tape public "if forced to break off a romantic relationship with the supervisor."

The news report also said that after Lockyer watched the sex tape and read a string of text messages between his wife and the other man, he contacted his friend and political ally O'Malley to get a restraining order to keep the man away from Nadia Lockyer. This on the grounds that he was allegedly stalking the supervisor.

But according to Alameda County spokeswoman Teresa Drenick, O'Malley denied that Bill Lockyer ever asked for her help in obtaining a court order. O'Malley said she had conversations with him about his wife's health but that she did not know anything about blackmail or a sex tape.

According to Drenick, a staff person from Nadia Lockyer's office first contacted the D.A. in January to report that Nadia felt she was being stalked. Which begs the question of why Lockyer would assign this private matter to someone on her staff rather than calling herself. Before her election, she headed the D.A's Alameda County Family Justice Center, which helps victims of domestic violence obtain stay-away orders.

Lockyer spokesman Ruben Briones declined to comment.

The D.A. assigned inspectors to investigate Nadia Lockyer's claims.

After interviewing her, they determined that she was not being stalked at that time. Meanwhile, Bill Lockyer continues to vigorously defend his wife's suitability for office -- which is itself indefensible.

He gave her $1.5 million, which had been donated to his campaign. That bought her the seat at a time when she surely must have already begun having serious problems with alcohol. She started treatment one month after her election -- which is where she reportedly met Chikhani.

Yet Bill Lockyer has portrayed his wife's addiction as something that suddenly became apparent in the weeks and months after she assumed office.

A person does not become a substance abuser overnight.

Bill Lockyer should stop enabling his wife and persuade her to resign.

Her attention right now needs to be on healing herself and caring for her young son.

Oops! I didn’t realize that the comment I’d tried to post yesterday actually went through! The site kept timing out on me, so I couldn’t see if it had posted, and completely missed it when I looked just a few minutes ago.

Look. He’s 70-she’s 40. Dems are just into sex at least the appearance of the trophy variety. His problem is that he’s FRUMPY. You just KNOW that she’s going to get it on the side at some moment when he is unable to RISE to the occasion. She didn’t go there to ‘counsel’ him: she went there to have sex. Fine. Why bring the kid along to whitness? This is what they do. Just ask John Edwards.

I think all of the editing has been outsourced overseas, somewhere.

Seems she keeps her eyes wide open all the time like Nancy Pelosi. So what is it? Is it the botox, or the face lifts, or could these ol’gals be using some sort of anesthetic to make recent cuts more bearable.

It's an eyes-wide-shut dominance signal amongst secret society women. There are those with the staring eyes and toothy smile, and there are those who obey them.

Really.

To the media, Rick Santorum’s pro-family and pro-life views are much more dangerous and scary.

This perverted sex/drugs/extortion stuff is tame by comparison.
