First Amendment: The ex-head of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops compares the administration take on freedom of worship to the Soviet Union's and says its contraceptive mandate will force church hospitals to close. On the first Sunday of Lent, Chicago's Francis Cardinal George issued his version of the letter issued by the USCCB he recently led. It shredded assurances by the administration that things could be worked out so that religious freedom would not be impaired and painted a bleak future that just might be the administration's intent. Going a bit further than his peers

If the ‘rats were trying to make Obamacare make sense they wouldn’t be making moves that have churches wanting to bail out of it. This is like bleed the hearts and damn the consequences. And as long as America stares at this in a gape mouth, paralyzed trance, that’s what it will keep getting.

0bama’s tactics bear repeating! When he wants to CHANGE something, he creates the EXCUSE first. To rally public support for banning domestic oil drilling he needed a major oil spill first, hence the gulf oil rig disaster.

To switch health care to a SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM, he’ll need 0bamacare to morph into chaos requiring such a switch.

Shutting down the Catholic hospitals because they refuse to comply with Obamacare, constricting 1/4 of the supply, might be that trigger / switch.

I have heard from so many doctors in the last few weeks that haven’t been paid for Medicare services in over TWO MONTHS. Some are going to have to start laying off nurses and office staff.

The government has diverted the payments to implementing and it is only going to get worse...

******

Medicare 27.4% doctor pay cut set for 2012 unless Congress acts

A 27.4% reduction to doctor pay starting Jan. 1 would have devastating consequences on all physicians and the millions of patients who rely on the insurance program for coverage, patient advocacy associations and organized medicine groups have warned. Beneficiaries would suffer from not being able to see the doctors of their choice, and physicians would weigh leaving the program and perhaps closing their doors.

For physicians who don’t meet Medicare requirements for electronic prescribing, CMS will be taking similar approaches to determine payment penalties in 2013 and 2014 as it has for 2012.

In addition to authorizing e-prescribing penalties, Medicare statute requires CMS to levy a 1.5% penalty in 2015 on physicians who do not participate successfully in the program’s physician quality reporting system. The agency is moving forward with plans to use 2013 PQRS activity to determine if a physician should be penalized in 2015.

He took an oath and broke it. It ‘s not about a person it’s all about the constitution. He should be impeached and if the House won’t do it the people should demand he step down.

This was a VERY important commentary from Francis Cardinal George. Thank you VERY much for posting it!

I have forwarded his warning to my entire address book!

The sad thing is how WE keep complying!

If we don’t stop cooperating with evil by our cowardice and compliance, evil shall certainly increasingly flourish! Dealing with this sooner than later may even save lives, as it gets only harder and increasingly dangerous.

This election is very important. After that, no matter who wins, we may the streets full of the unfriendly just as in Greece.

This is a wonderful object lesson in the dangers of socialism. I pray that the bishops learn from the experience.

Being a soldier of the welfare state gives one the warm fuzzies, but eventually the piper must be paid.
