As President Obama finds himself working harder for Hollywood re-election donations – “You can only be the first African-American president once,’’ says a Democratic consultant – the number of Hollywood Republicans appears to be swelling.
"There are lot more than people think," Frank DeMartini, a veteran film producer who blogs at HollywoodRepublican.net, told TheWrap. "It used to be about 80-20, Democrat. Now, I’d say it’s closer to 60-40. A majority of Republicans in Hollywood are hiding under rocks."
"There are certainly more conviction conservatives in Hollywood than conviction liberals," agrees screenwriter Lionel Chetwynd, one of the entertainment industry's most visible Republicans for years. Though he thinks the 60-40 ratio may be a bit high, he contends that "a lot of people just say they’re liberals because it’s good for their career.”
Who can say for sure? No one, really. Hollywood Republicans say many of their peers fear employment discrimination in a liberally liberal industry.
Sure, lots of A-list Republicans have stepped into the sunlight – Kelsey Grammar, Gary Sinise, Drew Carey, Patricia Heaton, Bruce Willis, Clint Eastwood, Jerry Bruckheimer and Adam Sandler.

Adam Sandler, believe it or not, is considered a Hollywood heavy hitter. He’s a lot more than his movies.
Most Hollywood liberals have no real convictions or morals, other than making a lot of money and thinking that they have real political power and influence.
The Conservatives have been the real victims of the “Hollywood Blacklist” since the 1950’s when the Communist Party apparatus and their comsymps tried to push anti-communists out of the industry. Thanks to John Wayne, Ronald Reagan, Ward Bond, Roy Brewer, Morrie Ryskind and others, they didn’t succeed but the Reds enjoyed a renaissance that has not been diminished thanks to Party-leading propagandists like Victor Navasky (Naming Names), and some leftist columnists (Dorothy Parker, a red), who kept pounding the myth of the “Blacklist” against liberals.
The true number of Hollywood Reds and hardcore marxists is probably in the dozens, at the most, scores, but the number of dupes is extremely large. Among the worst leftists are Sarandon, Robbins, Penn, wild man Woody Harrelson (a great actor, see “Zombieland” for a lot of laughs), Gyllenthals, the stupid Gwyneth Paltrow, Rosie O’Donnell, etc.
However, the grip of the old CPUSA is still very tight around the mentality of the prima donnas in Hollywood, but former red diaper baby Ron Radosh, Morrie Ryskind’s son Alan Ryskind, and others have been smashing down the red myths with a lot of success.
The conservatives have organized in Hollywood, often below the left’s radar, and they are waging guerrilla warfare against them, also successfully.
Eventually, if Obama is driven out of office, patriots will once again rule the movie industry and the Leftists will be seen as a little group of traitors (led, of course by Jane Fonda and Sean Penn).
Now that Jon Voight has defected from the Hollywood Left, a major blow to the reds, others are also wakening up as to who and what the Left is and represents.
We are winning but we must never let our guard down.
Sandler is HUGE in Hollywood. I was so glad (and surprised) to hear he’s a conservative.
I was surprised at that. Like many people in Hollywood, their ultimate success may not be in front of the camera's, though I still love Happy Gilmore! specially the Julie Bowman parts at his Happy Place.
Adam Sandler is a proud Jew who knows who his enemies are in Hollywood and the media. So too is Gene Simmons (KISS), the son of an Israeli soldier.
They speak out in defense of America, Israel, and Judaism, among other subjects. The late Ron Silver also was in this group.
The anti-semitism of the Hollywood Left, plus the open support for the Islamofascists by the Leftists, has ripped the veil of self-imposed blindness on some Left Coast Jews, and they are joining the fight against these twin enemies of freedom.
I like Gene Simmons a lot - he’s a real patriot. He did admit that he voted for BHO (which I understand) but he’s sorry now that he did.
Until the last couple movies, Sandler was making very profitable films. I would consider him far more A-list than some of the dopes wandering around at the Oscars that continually pump out box office poison like Sean Penn.

On American Idol J Lo and Steven Tyler always mention God. Every episode. I think it is their way of bucking the atheistic culture. Even Randy through in some moan of joy saying he's n church when someone singing a solid gospel power run. So yeah. It's happening in big and small ways.
Unfortunately when it comes out lefty it is beyond acceptable and extreme brainwashing BS for kids.

I work in the Hollywood biz but won’t get specific due to DU trolls who visit. Our parish (damn liberal) is choc-full of heavy hitters from Paramount to Lions Gate. Believe me, the mantra amongst right-wingers is “shut up and let the liberals talk and out themselves”. If I told you the “real” story of how Iron Man got green-lit, well...
I knew about most of the ones listed, but Jerry Bruckheimer surprised me. Didn’t know about that one.
Always thought Sandler was NOT funny - going WAY back - Saturday Night Live.
Then when I heard he was doing movies, I was puzzled.
Being funny is not hard to spot, and Sandler was not funny.
