Man faces nine felony charges for false recall petition signatures
Fox 6 News Milwaukee ^ | 2-28-12 | Katie DeLong

A man accused of falsely writing in signatures on a petition to recall State Senator Van Wanggaard, including one from a deceased person, is facing nine felony charges.

59-year-old Mark Demet of Racine has been charged by the Racine County District Attorney’s office with two felony counts of election fraud/nomination certification and seven felony counts of misappropriating identifying information for financial gain. If convicted on all charges, Demet faces up to 42 years in prison, and fines up to $90,000.

According to the criminal complaint, Demet admitted that he circulated the petition and signed the names of seven people on the petition. Investigators spoke to six of the people whose names appeared on the list to verify that they had not signed the petition.

Demet is expected to make an initial court appearance at 1:30 p.m. on March 13th.

This is excellent news! One of the recall election fraudsters will be held to account for his actions at least, thanks to the diligent efforts of a citizen journalist who first noticed the inconsistencies as a volunteer reviewing the recall petitions. It's nice to see the Racine County DA took these allegations seriously and undertook an investigation that led to these multiple felony charges.

The sanctity of vote is one of our most cherished rights as citizens, and people like Demet who spit in the face of those who fought to defend it deserve the harshest punishment.

When found guilty his punishment will be slap on the wrist. Guaranteed.

Vote fraud is a direct attack on the entire body politic. It should be a Capital offense with hanging as the method of execution.

“...and seven felony counts of misappropriating identifying information for financial gain.”

I wonder who was paying him to commit this fraud?

In his defense he said “Hey we used to do this all the time and no one complained”

Absolutely! It is an attempt at overthrowing the US government through electioneering.

I’m 100% SURE that MSNBC, the SEIU, and the DNC will be dispatching the best attorneys to defend this guy....

OH WAIT...
He’s just another in a long line of USEFUL IDIOTS, The DNC won’t be covering his bail. MSNBC won’t be sending in attorneys to defend him.

This moron is destroying his own life, because the magic sqwauking box in his living room told him to do it, for “THE CAUSE!!!”.

I reviewed signatures over the last 12 days and found over one hundred ‘mistakes’ in the signatures presented to the Board of Erections. That’s right, it was here in Wisconsin where the teacher’s union refused their viagra instead of keeping some recently hired teachers. So long suckers!

Sadly, most of this crap is swept under the rug (because of activist commie judges) across multiple states... VERY happy to see some of it coming to the public though :D

Sorry for the late reply but no, he did worse than that and signed the names of family members and others who he knew did not live in the district. That’s why the DA was able to get him on ID theft charges, since by signing he swore he was that person. The others are just as bad but will be dismissed as a joke, whereas he crossed the line at least for this DA.

Call me crazy but falling over to set a precedent? We know he'll get a slap on the wrist but if any R gets caught doing it they'll go to prison, I'm sure.

I'd like to know if he has a job and just what his bio is.

We know they're allowing Mickey Mouse and Adolf Hitler to vote.

Something stinks here!

Wisconsin Voter Fraud Prosecution News

FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.

After Mr. Demet serves his prison sentence and pays his fine, he should be barred from voting for the rest of his life.

His first court date is 3/13

Will all signatures he gathered be thrown out?

If anyone did, I pray the truth comes out and they, also, are held accountable before the law.

“After Mr. Demet serves his prison sentence and pays his fine, he should be barred from voting for the rest of his life.”

If Demet, who is 59, gets the full 42 years, loosing his voting privilege will be the least of his worries. Personally, I hope he dies in prison making license plates to pay off his $90,000 fine! This stuff has to start mattering if we are to have a country.
