With February now in the history books, US sales of the two most popular electrified vehicles have been tallied.

Nissan reports that sales of the electric LEAF checked in at only 478 units in February 2012. That's below the 676 LEAFs that Nissan reported selling in January 2012, but still seven times more than the 67 LEAFs sold in February 2011, when the market was just getting started.

Sales of the Chevy Volt picked up significantly with General Motors reporting it sold 1,203 units in February 2012. That's nearly double the 603 Volts sold in January 2012, but still a bit below the 1,529 Volts that Chevy sold in December 2011.

And how many millions of tax dollars went up in smoke with each Volt sold?

The Leaf is merely a street legal electric golf cart. Who wants a car that will leave you stranded when the battery runs down?

The Volt is better, but WAAAAAAY overpriced.

Are these actual sales or are they deliveries to GE and Govt' entities that are buying these losers to appease the Regime. At these pathetic sales number, that is 24 units per state. Big deal.

The Volt is . . . WAAAAAAY overpriced.

The Volt is overpriced, but I hope people will avoid them because of the massive corruption of GM instead of because it's an overpriced golf cart. The Bailout left GM bondholders with almost nothing, even though contract law and bankruptcy law both said they should have gotten paid before the UAW claims were met. I got out of GM well in advance, so I wasn't one of the victims of that crime, but I am still disgusted with that illegal act and am boycotting GM forever because of their criminal behavior - as all decent people should do.

THE OBAMA PERPETUAL MOTION MACHINE

Just feed it regularly with billions of taxpayer dollars.

Alleged GE Memo Tells Employees:
Want to Drive a Company Car, It Will Likely be a Volt

"In GM’s 2012 sales projections for the Volt, the company was initially claiming they would deliver 60,000 cars. That number has been dropped down to 45,000. Those downsized, but still aggressive, projections will be helped by General Electric’s decision to order 12,000 Volts and some other hybrid for its company fleet.

GE, a company headed by Obama Jobs Czar Jeffry Immelt, is also well known for its questionable federal income tax rate in 2010. And now GE is reportedly “nudging” a substantial number of employees to drive the Chevy Volt by replacing the company cars in its fleet with the “green” cars. The company is also paying for the installation of charging stations at the homes of those employees who will be driving the car and is even paying for the electricity used to charge them."

Sizzle? More like fizzle.

Toyota sells more than 300K Camrys per year in the US. Volt sales are chump change.

Sales sizzle, huh?

Better than January? Yes, due to people buying in Dec, to get tax credit.

Better than Dec? No

Better than Nov? No

Better than Oct? No

Better than Sep Yes.

On pace for 45,000 sales goal? No.

‘Sold’ to lots, but not in consumer hands? Maybe.

What BS. If sales are up, it’s only because GE (ozero’s buddy) agreed to force 12,000 . . . . . . er, BUY 12,000 units for their employees to push . . . . . . um, . . . . DRIVE!!

(BAD keyboard, BAD!!!)

Apart from the GE sales, GM is stuffing these babies down the dealers’ throats to make sales look better.
