Alleged travel fraud? Dumb, if true. Not worth losing a career over.

Lots of dumb going around.

I don’t understand people who are willing to throw their careers over small things, just to save a couple of bucks, but it happens all the time.

Yes, a very dumb act. Their command could be commanding a toilet.

I once had to fire an employee for stealing a fan worth less than $20.

Two weeks earlier the plant manager called a plant-wide meeting and told the employees he was cracking down on the petty theft, no exceptions...you will be fired.

This dummy gets caught stealing a stupid fan. He lost the best job he ever had, or likely ever will have.

No, it's not good news at all, my FRiend.

Naval officers know better, and one suspects (if allegations are proven) that this could easily end up with loss of commission, and being shown the hatch (door).

FWIW, I'm not a supporter of women on subs, at least not before an extensive (and unbiased) trial period with a few test vessels. But the policy is not the Naval officers' fault, and absent apparent unfortunate conduct, I would wish them (and the entire crews) well.

.

Many years ago, I worked in a shipyard where some guys would slip paint brushes and small tools into their lunch boxes pants pockets and take the stolen objects home. Security warned all employees that theft would be punished with immediate termination. The next week, the guards began checking bags and lunch boxes at the exit gate, and several dozen workers were fired.

...hatch (door).

There are major differences between a hatch and a door.

Obozo sets a hell of an example, doesn’t he?

Steal some nickle and dime crap and get nailed for fraud.

Steal an entire COUNTRY and you’re not even required to show up for a court hearing.

I guess some ARE more equal than others.

Years ago a high-ranking civil servant in my organization was accused of embezzling $5000 in travel funds. He was allowed to resign. I never believed the accusation. I knew the guy, and he wasn't stupid enough to risk his career, retirement, etc, for $5000. I don't know what the real issue was, but I'm convinced they had something else on him, and this was a way of saving face for the government, and to some extent, for him as well.

Anything that kills this program in my opinion is good news in my opinion. Basically the only hope for the Navy is to see Santorum elected so the whole social experimentation effort can be eliminated and the service returned to the standards of the Reagan era. I’m sure you’ve already heard about the senior petty officer who was relieved for screwing the midshipman? Who honestly believe introducing sodomites or women on to boats will make them more combat effective.
