President Obama has said that he thinks he has a certain laziness that stems from growing up in Hawaii, where it’s always sunny and people lie on the beach for sport.

I seem to recall that narcissists are rarely happy (and neither are compulsive or frequent liars.)

Obviously it tops the well-being index because you can come from another country, make pretend you went to Harvard, and become POTUS. And the state of HI will work to hide your true ID every step of the way.

More Socialist. More expensive, and a lot more sweating. Nice in pictures, but can be really hot with humidity reaching 100%. Get that same tropical feeling for a tenth of the cost in the Phillipines.

I liked East Texas near longview but the Dallas area wasn’t for me. Too wide open for me. I need to have trees overhead.

I lived there for several years when I was stationed there. I don’t remember any uncomfortable humidity. Prices were high in Honolulu but no higher than in Virginia Beach, the rest of the State was OK, the Big Island was actually cheap. I loved it.

There are piney woods as far west as Bastrop. (Except for the ones that got burnt up in last summer’s wildfires.)
