Still parroting the lies about Newt. Please do some homework on what he has done since leaving Congress.

Okay, Rick is the only one who can defeat Romney out in Washington. Rick needs to win there to also defeat Romney in Ohio as well. Vote in a particular state whoever has got the best chance to beat Romney. In Georgia it’s probably Newt, in Virginia it’s Ron Paul. Ohio and Tennessee it’s Santorum. That’s the deal, we have to beat the left wingers in both parties of which Romney is one.

"According to you the only states that have credence are SC and Georgia."

Oh, not true. I give credence to EVERY state that has a close GOP primary of the general GOP electorate. Extra points if committed delegates are at stake.

In all cases.

I may not like the results, but I respect them.

And I give credit where credit is due.

For instance, no matter how much I loathe Romney I have to give him credit for his comeback in FLA. Or Rick Santorum's win in Michigan and his ability to get 91% of the 9% of democrats to vote for him there.

Both achievements deserve credit.

And I'm Gingrich all the way.

Don’t know why it duplicated the response so many times.

Here's one reason Michigan Primary Results 2012: Rick Santorum Proud of His Impact in Tight Race .

Once you get through the thank you's, it highlights his ideas on energy policy/regulations...continues with his views on freedom and what this election is all about. I found it quite interesting/informative.

Gingrich is polling a distant 4th place in Washington, so voting for him in the Washington caucuses is unlikely to get him any delegates, or stop Romney in any way.

On the other hand, maybe the polls are all wrong, and if the 20 people supporting Gingrich in Washington all show up at the same caucus, he might actually win. :-)

Seriously, people should just vote for whoever they want, and stop telling people to drop out or vote for other candidates.

Reasons to vote for Santorum: 1) Solid Conservative: Despite what Romney, Paul, and to a lesser extent, Gingrich have said, Santorum is a solid fiscal,as well as social conservative. He received 7 A's, 3 B+, and 2 B's from the National Taxpayers Union and contrary to the lies posted FR and elsewhere, Big Labor was No Friend of his. 2) Great Reform Ideas: Santorum has a plan to cut the deficit $5 trillion in the first five years. He has a plan to revitalize our nation's manufacturing sector. He has been a long time advocate of social security reform. He has produced cutting the corporate income tax for everyone to 17.5% and cutting the tax on manufacturing to 0%. These ideas will revitalize a manufacturing sector desperately in need and restore American opportunity. 3) Courage: We have many issues that have to be fixed; Now. Both Gingrich and Romney have proposed that changes to entitlement plans be put off 10 years. Santorum is willing to start NOW because they're going bankrupt NOW. Fundamentally, we need to address the problem NOW, but there's nothing most politicians would rather do than put off politically hard decisions until after they're out of office. Santorum is ready to take this on NOW. I know will lead this fight because he's shown a record of sticking to his guns. On the issue of Partial Birth Abortion, he was like William Wilberforce, fighting year after year on the floor of the U.S. Senate against folks like Barbara Boxer and Hillary Clinton year in and year out. The same thing is true on Social Security. With the 2nd Highest Per Capita Senior population in the country, it'd be easy to shut about it, and it would have made his life easier, but he pushed for it despite the risk. When he dedicates himself to an idea, to a goal, he is courageous and relentless. He never gives up, he never faints. It's for this reason, I think he should be the next President.

I think the title of his Vanity and the one sentence he has in the body pretty well says what needs to be said. "Hey, Rick Santorum needs momentum going into Super Tuesday. Vote for him in the Caucuses in Washington State tomorrow."

Apparently you're not a Santorum supporter. I base that on your snide remark: "You should at least spend a couple of paragraphs constructing an argument, if you can. What in the hell would you like? A 500 line Thesis? Lighten up Dr. Bucket-mouth. GEESH!!!

You need to be selling me on why I and others should pick Santorum and not assume we are going there to vote for him.

It’s the eve of your State Caucus. You still need to be “sold” on a candidate? Wow, that really reinforces my hope for an informed electorate this year.

Since Newt, nor Rick, will be on the ballot in Virginia, I'm wondering why there have been no Posts on here encouraging Newt's and Rick's supporters in Virginia to vote for Ron Paul on Tuesday. Kook-daddy will not get the nomination anyhow, and that would slow RINO-Rom's momentum and be a dreadful loss for him. Are there not enough anti-Romney votes to stop RINO-Rom when he has just one opponent?

Maybe it's time for the anti-Romney vote to put up or shut up. If not, then let's just go ahead and coronate RINO-Rom now. Kook-Daddy came in Third in VA in '08, so this is doable. But, then, many Conservatives are so divisive and mean-spirited they couldn't unite to stop a toddler from running out into highway traffic. I mean just look at the divisiveness of this Thread we're on now. Hell, we deserve what we get.

To date I’ve refrained from expressing a strong interest pro/con in any of the candidates. You may find this event surrounding Santorum of interest. If you are a Steelers fan from PA you may even remember.

Santorum was my Senator and I strongly supported him in the beginning but not into his second term. I thought he spent most of his efforts looking after Rick and K street, and not constituents in PA.

He was never strong in opposing illegal immigration and in fact just the opposite. One of his policies along this line that aggravated me was when he arranged for thousands of Muslims to come and live in PA in 2004.

Our local paper stated that Santorum and Bush were supporting a special immigration deal whereby thousands of Russian Muslims were encouraged to come to PA and other places in the USA to be resettled on the taxpayer dime. As an concerned constituent I emailed Santorum on 8-4-2004 asking for the rationale and specifics, and I never received a reply.

To add some credibility to this story I attempted to find the original references about this deal but didn’t succeed because the original link as referenced in my email was dead. But I did search and find this and other FreeRepub links from 2004. If this is an issue then consider it. If it isn’t then disregard.

I totally agree, all Virginia Conservatives should vote Ron Paul on Tuesday.

I have to agree with you about Ron Paul in Virginia. If I lived in Virginia, I’d be voting for Ron Paul, as the only candidate running against Romney.

I actually hate Ron Paul. But Ron Paul has no chance of getting the nomination. You can’t say that about Romney.

I would love to hear from Virginia conservatives on this. Just why the hell aren’t you voting for Ron Paul? Why aren’t you doing what you can to stop Romney in your state?

What exactly are your plans? Not vote in the primary at all? To vote for Romney? To do some kind of throw-away write-in vote? What, exactly? I’m asking you, Virginia conservatives.

I just don’t get it. How can the anti-Romney vote not coalesce around Ron Paul in Virginia? It’s maddening. It’s depressing. And I’m afraid it shows just how poorly organized we conservatives are... and how hopeless our cause therefore is. If Virginia conservatives can’t see the obvious anti-Romney play that they could so easily make, then the conservative movement as a whole is in big, big trouble in this country.

I like Newt better than I like Santorum. For that matter, I would prefer Rick Perry to both Gingrich and Santorum. But Perry is out. And Gingrich is pretty much out. That leaves Santorum. Unless you happen to like Romney.

Conservatives need to unite behind the most electable conservative alternative. Right now, that means Santorum.

Sure Newt is going to win Georgia. But that’s the end of it. He’s not going to win much else.

If we want to stop Romney we have to unite behind Santorum, except in Georgia (cede that to Newt) and except in Virginia (where we should be uniting behind Ron Paul to stop Romney).

Do we want to stop Romney or not?
