In the U.S. Senate race in Massachusetts, Republican Sen. Scott Brown is leading chief Democratic rival Elizabeth Warren by a margin of eight percentage points according to the first poll conducted by Western New England University's Polling Institute for The Republican, MassLive.com and El Pueblo Latino this election season.

The statewide survey of 527 registered voters was conducted between Feb 23 and March 1, and bears a 4.3 percent margin of error.

The poll revealed that Brown remains popular in the Bay State, with 49 percent of those surveyed saying they would vote for him if the election was held today. Warren, a consumer advocate and Harvard Law School professor vying for the Democratic nomination to take on Brown in November's general election, pulled 41 percent of the projected vote.

I sure hope that Elizebeth Warren doesn’t win this. She’s a blue collar version of Nancy Pelosi. Scott Brown has his shortcomings, but we could do much, much worse.

Elizabeth Warren has a doctorate and she's rich.

Whatever "blue collar" background she had was shed long ago.

Elzbet is the type of person we don't want in our government.

True.. Brown isn`t the conservative we`d hoped for, but he`s what passes for one in MA.

I know liberals in Massachusetts who think Warren is a nut case. That is all you need to know.

Scott Brown has his shortcomings

The understatement of the year. I wish we could get someone better. He has voted so many times with Obama that I forget he is a Republican. I guess him winning is better than Elizabeth but not by much.

Congrats to Scott Brown who seems to have found an opponent who makes him look like a staunch Conservative again.

I predict that the more Warren opens her mouth, the lower her numbers will go.

“I wish we could get someone better.”

Sure . . . but we’re dealing with Mass. Whether we like it or not sometimes it’s all relative, and as a practical matter Scott Brown is about the best we’re going to get up there. Regardless of what one thinks about Scott Brown, he’s no Liz Warren.

This must be driving the Communist Democratic Party of Massachusetts crazy. Or, should I say crazier, given we have the looniest person possible on the ticket in Elizabeth Warren.

Scott Brown is just driving us to hell along a slightly longer route than Warren would.
Several years ago a petition against gay marriage was circulated in Mass. A radical gay activist named Tom Lang got hold of the list and published all the names and addresses of the signers in an obvious attempt of intimidation and restraint of free speech. The same Tom Lang and his ‘husband’ were in Washington for the signing of the repeal of ‘don't ask, don't tell.’ They were personal invitee’s of none other than Scott Brown.

If we get a Republican Senate and Republican President, his voting record will be better. Under Republican control of the Senate, many of those bills wouldn't have even reached the floor of the Senate. I'd rather have him representing the Peoples Republic of Massachusetts than someone to the left of John Kerry.

Republicans need to worry about picking up seats in more fertile ground. Why should Montana have two 'RAT senators. Prior to 2004 neither South Dakota nor North Dakota had a Republican senator. There's no excuse for letting states that voted for Republican presidential candidates in 1992, 1996, and 2008 elect DemocRAT senators.

She’s anything but ‘blue collar’ she’s an academic elitist of privilege. A socialist, to boot.

Scott Brown is a RINO a-hole, to be sure. But Liz Warren is a dangerous communist. So we have no choice but to put all of our resources and energy behind him. We MUST have a majority in both houses, in case of an Obama re-elect. If we do, we can put all sorts of fun items nestled gently inside of defense authorization and healthcare bills.

Here is how to look at this race. Scott Brown is a good and decent man, Elizabeth Warren is a Socialist Harvard professor.

And it would be even better if we defeated Obama too. There's no way to repeal Obamacare without having a strong majority in the Senate and having a Republican president.
