Santorum: I'll beat Romney if Gingrich drops out
The Examiner ^ | March 4th, 2012 | Joel Gehrke

Rick Santorum indicated that Newt Gingrich should drop out of the presidential race, arguing -- as Gingrich did during his surge -- that splitting the "anti-Romney" vote helped Mitt Romney win the Michigan primary and Washington caucuses and contributes to his overall success so far.

"It's always harder when you've got to conservative running in the race as we have seen in Washington and we've seen in other states," Santorum said on Fox News Sunday. "We have the anti-Romney vote, if you will. Both Gingrich and I are slugging away."

Santorum stopped short of calling for Gingrich to exit the race, but he noted that their combined support would defeat Romney. "In Michigan, we would have won easily if those two votes had been combined," he told Chris Wallace.

He also made clear that he believes Gingrich will have to drop out, eventually. "And, you know, eventually hopefully the race will settle out and we'll go one on one," Santorum said. "And once that happens, we feel very comfortable we're going to win this thing."

And you'll lose to Obama, and that's the problem, pure and simple Rick

Chris Wallace was the arrogant nasty one on Fox News Sunday and I wrote him and told him so. He had no right to keep attacking Santorum over and over again about his PRIVATE views on contraception. Santorum has never ever said he would tamper with a person’s right to use contraception or not. Wallace knew that he just wanted to push the envelope and confuse those who don’t understand what is going on. Seems like you are one of those people. Whenever Santorum has had the opportunity to talk about real issues he has done very well. He would have no problems handling BO; whereas, Mittens will have his hands full trying to justify Romneycare and a host of other revelant flip flops.

Santorum and Romney are equally odious. We don’t need another 8 years of George W Santorum.

So, Brown Deer, since you have delivered crickets on whether you have a problem with my conservative credentials... are you going to try to have all these other Freepers to be kicked out of Free Republic as well?

I know, I know, the standard answer is ... yet again... crickets.

I see you have no substance to your accusation.

I’d be a billionaire if Bill Gates left me some money in his will.

It’s “Super Tuesday,” only Romney and Gingrich can emerge to challenge Obama

If either Rick or Newt, throw support to one or the other against Hillary, watch how quickly O-Undocumented is “finally” found to be in office illegally, or forced out of office.

One or the other should drop out, endorse the other, and pledge their delegates to the other’s campaign. Preferably, Rick Santorum should bow out, and endorse Newt and pledge his delegates to Newt. That puts the race back in play because then there’s only a seventy delegate gap between Romney and Newt under such a scenario, because there are plenty of states to go before someone gets to 1100 delegates. Most of Santorum’s support would then shift to Newt because they’re only inclined to vote for Romney last ditch to deny Obama re-election, because they are closer to each other on policy than Santorum would be to Romney. So take it as a hint Rick, drop out so Newt can win this, he might make you veep..
