Governor Romney has a solid record of pursuing gun control measures to control crime and increase safety. He is vocally supportive of the assault weapons ban, supported a waiting period, and supports registration. While Governor he continued Massachusetts's history of gun control advocacy.

In 2002, Mitt Romney stated in a debate that he supported the tough gun laws in Massachusetts and that he believed they help protect us and keep us safe. He vowed not to chip away at those laws.

While in office, Governor Romney supported the Brady bill and a waiting period because it was necessary to complete a background check. More recently, he has stated that with the advent of instant background checks, a waiting period is no longer required.

Just to keep it fresh in everyone's mind how much Romney despises personal and individual liberties.

While governor I heard him say, in a radio interview, that he would support the licensing and registration of bb & pellet guns. IIRC he said this after there was some bb gun related vandalism somewhere in the state.

Mitt is not to be trusted.

Can't figure out why Ted Nugent would endorse him.

Before endorsing him, Nugent demanded that Romney pledge there would be no new gun laws or restrictions on Second Amendment rights in his administration. Romney obliged. Nugent also warned Romney about the “out of control” U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.

If he's convinced Uncle Ted, I feel much better about Romney on this issue.

Take pride in your customized 5.56mm AR-15s and variants America. Get them now because if Romney is elected they will be impossible to get...just as they are now here in MA.

Romney is the one who signed into MA law, a clone of the assault weapons ban.

Collapsible stock? Illegal in MA.
Flash suppressor? Illegal in MA.
Bayonet mount? Illegal in MA.
20 round magazine? Anything over 10 rounds illegal in MA.

The list goes on.

The best I can do is a Hi-Point 9mm AR type rifle with none of the above and some Picatinny rails for add-ons if desired.

Romney is a liar and is no Comservative. If he gets the GOP nomination we are screwed no matter who wins the general in November.

The 2A threat from Romney isn’t from his direct action re guns. It will come through his court appointments should he win. His record of court appointments in MA was horrible.

If he's convinced Uncle Ted, I feel much better about Romney on this issue.

So you're willing to take the word of Mitt Romney after he stated within the last two months:

1. He has always been Pro-Life.
2. He was a "severely" conservative governor of MA.

Also, after he lied about Newt Gingrich leading up to the Florida Primary about the so-called "Ethics" investigation?

Really?

He is a continual and serial liar.

Anyone believing anything Mitt is saying is a dupe.

How do you know Mitt Romney is lying?

HIS LIPS ARE MOVING!

But your being stubborn and want perfection. I mean so what if he is:
pro-gun control
pro-choice
pro-tax increase—sorry Mitt, a fee is a tax
pro-government health care
pro-big government
pro-homosexual—not just rights but extra government enforced protections
pro-gay marriage

Yeah-yeah I know he says he is none of these things yet his record and statements before running for president say he is. And here I am of being accused by the establishment and party boys of only willing to vote for a perfect 10 conservative candidate. I never realized Mitt had such a conservative record...

Pro-gun control is a deal breaker for me.

A man that thinks this is insane, Romney is a dedicated, instinctively, anti-gun, nutcase.

"These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense," Romney said. "They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people."
