An FEC search reveals several political donations from a David Friend at the same specific street address. This page lists two donations totalling $300 for that individual to MoveOn.org.
The broader record for the same individual, David Friend, at that address includes the campaigns of Howard Dean, Democracy for America, Texans for Truth, Tony Knowles, John Kerry, Matthew Flynn and America Coming Together, Gore/Lieberman.

A couple days after pulling CARBONITE's ads from Rush's program, today CARBONITE stock (symbol CARB) tanked -8.74%.
CARBONITE apparently loses tens-of-millions every year. Perhaps this added publicity helped educate people (shareholders) on their terrible business model and year-after-year losses.
Instead of paying left-wing CARBONITE, folks should purchase an external hard drive to back up data.
Giving money to CARBONITE means giving money to folks like Soros, Howard Dean and John Kerry.
Be sure when ever you hear a carb-— commercial to see what program they are sponsoring. Write the program and express your distaste. This can be truly fun.
8.74 is not in the tank......but in 30 days it WILL be : )
The conservative backlash is beginning!
Tony Knowles is a denizen of the Dark Side??
this is a tremendour idea
“Be sure when ever you hear a carb- commercial to see what program they are sponsoring. Write the program and express your distaste. This can be truly fun.:
I wonder if there is a way to know with whom they advertise?
i will call and email everyone of the places
Lots of business concerns donate to both major political parties. But Moveon?
See, all CARB had to do was say they are working on battery technology and voila, taxpayer money appears.
So they became a market driven company and the market sain, no thanks. The CEO needs to be fired and the company needs to salvage one of the working lines of business and focus soley on that.
Libs aren’t the only ones who can boycott - right Carbonite? :)
I hope Carbonite tanks..watch for Obama to bail them out..hey libs, it works BOTH ways..we have power too
I e-mailed them to say that I won’t be renewing my subscription.
Same for “Go To My PC”...
Omoslem will probably turn CARBONITE into another “moslem outreach” program.
We could also do some short selling of stock of listed companies who have dropped Rush. You can’t stop advertising to 20m customers and not loose some business.
Sounds like they need a back-up...............
go to your cupboard.... get your roll of tin foil, and make a hat, because here comes my conspiracy theory... these here advertisers offered rush tons of cash to be advertised on his show.... knowing that the day would come when they would pull their advertising, along with several other high profit advertisers, in the hope of either putting him “in line” or bankrupting him and forcing him off the air... the only way they could not win is if he did not give a damn about these here specific advertisers.... rush got ‘em again... they lose
It is a stupid product anyway. You can go to Walmart and buy a terabyte of backup for under $100.
I hope their stock keeps falling
Cancelled a couple of days ago and congratulated them on making a stupid business decision based on ginned up outrage.
Now that Carbonite has all my backup info...how do I know they won’t turn it all over to the government once I cancel?
Mine is up in a couple of months. I told them to cancel immediately, and I told them why. I probably won't get the few dollars back from the balance of the subscription, but I really don't care. I also told the folks at ProFlowers that I will no longer be requiring their services, or that of any of their affiliates.
Who wants their personal data shared with the Obama White House???
Former Alaska Gov candidate Tony Knowles is hooked up with Hedge Fund titan George Kaiser, the billionaire backer of Solyndra. Knowles runs Kaiser’s National Energy Policy Institute. Knowles has a close tie to Obama aide Peter Rouse.
Did “gotomypc” drop Rush too?
Anyone have a list of sponsors that dropped Rush ??
You don’t know, that’s why you should use an external hard drive.
From the Yahoo Message Boards:
“Going Down Faster Than Sandra Fluke On A Free Box Of Pills”
CITRIX aka: "Go To My PC"
My bad, but one of the reasons I went with them is because of Rush...now what about LifeLock??
Just canceled on all of my computers. Dropbox will keep what I need.
Lifelock is still with Rush. It is almost impossible to live “off grid” nowadays. I wouldn’t worry about it, since there nothing you can do. Carbonite is probably far more worried about their stock prices, rather than worried about you.
but in 30 days it WILL be :
When Sam Walton was alive, his co. lost one billion dollars in one day trading. I told my brother in-law, that’s ok, (Sam at that time was estimated to be worth eleven billion dollars), he’s not hurting, he still has ten billion dollars, to which my brother in-law replied, “ten more days on the stock mkt. like this, and he’ll be hurting.
And to Carbonite, here’s hoping you have several bad days trading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly, I can’t think of a more trustworthy company to trust all my data to..........right
Where is the list of all of the companies that have dropped Rush?
It’s not about backup. It’s about offsite backup, in case something goes wrong in your home or office (break-in, flood, tornado, fire) ...
“Libs arent the only ones who can boycott - right Carbonite? :)”
Meanwhile they can take all your data and give it to the Feds.
“It is a stupid product anyway. You can go to Walmart and buy a terabyte of backup for under $100.”
While I have cancelled my Carbonite, off premiss backup
is NOT stupid.
Is your terabyte drive fire, flood, and theft proof?
Is it easy to plug in?
Is it easy to activate?
It’s a terrorist with a really bad overbite!
I was wondering the same thing.
Unless it is a home business, most people are just backing up pictures, music, movies, and other crap. The odds of my house doing any of the three are so slim that it is negligible, especially since none of the junk on it is mine. It is my kid’s who fill up the hard drive with minutia.
Plug and play. My teenager set mine up. A terabyte is the equivalent to 250,000 songs or about 111 DVD movies.
” And to Carbonite, heres hoping you have several bad days trading!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
LOL.....Good on ya, Buck : )
“I probably won’t get the few dollars back from the balance of the subscription...”
If they don’t return what you’re owed, sue them in small claims court. It will force them to hire a lawyer in your county for a few grand.
Buy a few shares then sell them for $1. They hate that.
Weasel Zippers has a list on their site. They are keeping it updated.
A few dozen FReepers, and we could short CARB into sawdust : )
Just sell it back and forth to each other at, oh, say, $.67 cents down each time? Nothing obvious.
It's paid advertising and the station won't give a rip what you care about their sponsor unless you can assure them you are prepared to fork over more $$$ for the advertising space........
